Have no experience with nationals....that is why I asked? Ive shot other large non-ipsc matches though with much higher round counts which is why it seemed low to me

Ideally the whole match would be 32 round field courses, but then we'd be shooting USPSA.

There is not much of recommendations as far as how many stages/rounds for Nationals but I will leave that to comment for maybe Sean who has more authority than anyone else to speak about since he will be co-MD.
I think (my opinion) Nationals should always be the best and perhaps the biggest match in nation, where stages can test every aspect of IPSC shooting.

The last uspsa match I shot was a 300 round 8 stage level 1

For a Nationals, agreed.

28th in Terrace John, Sno Snake. Bring lots of ammo and get a jump for next year. Lower the error rate.

shipping ammo to the Nationals has never been a big deal, maybe $50 to send ammo ahead of time, not a big deal. I think that match sounds awfully small for a Nationals. Even if they are great stages and it's well run, more stages is better IMHO

Do competitors shoot each day, from Wed to Sat, or can we pick which days ? Not sure how this works.

I guess it comes down to being part of the solution or part of the problem and sitting back on your butt and whining about it would be part of the problem.
