Canadian Made .50cal mags

Do you have access to the internet in the bush? Cos I usually don't. I prefer specifics be on the mag as that's the only way these can be legal.

from the site............. "Q: What ammunition will work in the PCV-50?
A: The PCV-50 is designed to hold and feed five rounds of .50 calibre ammunition, specifically the .458 SOCOM and .50 Beowulf. "

Neat. I will of course reserve judgement until these roll off the assembly line and into consumers rifles.

I assume that someone from this company is watching this thread, so one thing I have to point out is that by my observation there are at least three retailers watching the Beo mag developments and with purchase orders in hand. If this company wants to get onto retailers shelves they need to apply the price accordingly.

By this I mean that NEA, NR magazine, at least two enterprising individuals with Chinese mags, and eventually Armtac are going to bring product to market. It's hard to predict wholesale and retail prices but some have hinted being retail sub $40, even sub $30. The higest priced mag being Armtac will bring it in at $50 once the US starts to clear the backlog (yes, it will eventually happen). I understand that these are Canadian made which cost more to manufacture, and honestly my wallet for individual retail purchases likes that, I like made in Canada product. However if a retailer were to put down a initial purchase order for 1000 mags or more it would likely be done so with an eye to the future. At $55 per mag manufacturers applied price it would get out competed at price point by every other alternative on the market (I'm talking retailers, not the EE). This would make it so that any retailer with stock on hand would have to drop the prices to meet market value in order to move the product and likely take a loss doing so. Not many retailers are going to like the thought of that and those that did commit could very well be a one time purchase.

In order to stay competitive I'd highly suggest pricing in the sub $30 to high end price of $35 per mag, and of course if the company can wholesale to retailers at less. It is a Canadian made mag, so I can see consumers supporting it at $35 each when there are other alternatives (assuming it's a reliable product). This would future proof the business well enough against the 5 known competitors (3 for sure) soon to be on the market. Initial sales will happen at $55, but once the competition comes to market this could very well be a flash in the pan. As said I like the thoughts of a Canadian manufacturer, so I hope this helps.

Its already been proven when the RCMP stated clarification on magazine limits. You know that. You also know you can't just pin a 30 rder at 10 rds and sell it as a pistol mag and if its not marked as a pistol mag then its not a pistol mag.
When it says 50 caliber its a little vague. Grey area is dangerous grounds. We've all seen what happens when LEOs misunderstand the laws as well as the specifics of certain items. They have all the power in those situations so if they can misinterpret what the mags are actually designed for its the owner of the mag that will pay for it. Simple as that. If it says .50 Beowulf then its clear.

Prove it. Show me where it says that any where in Canadian Law.

As for reviews... I hope the company and those representing/working for it have the business sence to only publish/endorse documentation and reviews that show these working for .458 and .50beo.

Kind of ugly, but they'll do the job. I think I will grab a couple while I'm waiting for my AA polymers.

ugly or not it needs to clearly be labeled as .50 Beowulf.

I aint risking my liscence, firearms, freedom etc until it does.

But once it does, I WILL buy some. even 16 rounds sucks, but its better.

My thoughts exactly. I have way too much time, effort and money tied up in this hobby to risk losing it all for 5 or 6 extra rds in the mag. If they said .50 beo I'd have one on order by now. Hopefully it all works out tho, I'm certainly not opposed to a Canadian product but it needs to be a safe bet to put my money on it.

.50 Beowulf is a trade mark. It's the same as when Glock took the S&W off of their guns chambered in .40 S&W. All they have to do is label the gun .40. All these mags have to be labeled is their intended caliber, .50.

How many of your AR mags are actually marked for 5.56? My LARs are but my regular steel/aluminum ones are not. The law merely calls for the magazine to be limited to a capacity according to the manufacturer's intended use, not that it be clearly marked as such.

The mags are unique in appearance. No need to worry about having .50 beowulf written on your baseplates with these guys..

Great to hear there's another vendor bringing .50 mags to the market, competition will benefit consumers. Hoping these have been beta'd and are reliable.
