Canadian Made Swiss Arms AR Lower

IMO the OP put his own foot in his mouth by spouting off pipe dream time lines. Of course producing a project like this takes time and finesse. Most people would have understood that, but you yourself kept throwing out false time lines and getting peoples hopes up. Sometimes it's best (especially on a live forum) to just keep your mouth shut.

In any event I wish you nothing but the best, as far as I can see you guys have been producing some great stuff.

I would rather hold back a delivery then ship sub par product.

If that's the case, you should inform the masses. What kind of improvements/corrections did you have to do??

I've got nothing against a company who keeps it's patrons in the know...but credibility is lost if time lines are set and then broken with no apparent reason.

In the future, if you are not comfortable with releasing time lines, then the best advice is to not post anything at all. Of course the draw back is that it's hard to generate interest in a product when no one is talking about it.

Just my 2 cents. ;)

With the support we have received on this project and the AR, we are now comfortable tackling new projects without needing feed back prior to starting. We have been pleasantly surprised how large and supportive the Canadian market is for Canadian made product. Foreign sales have also picked up quite a bit which also helps ease the fear of launching big and ambitious projects.

I will say that the lower will certainly not be the last product we launch on the swiss platform.

nothing, as we are not announcing projects going forward.

Bingo!
Please do not misunderstand my prior post as a blanket criticism.
Kudos to you, and others, who are willing to take on these projects with no guarantee of profitability..committing time, machinery and $ which could have you paying off the mortgage years sooner.
The lesson here is....make the announcement when the product ships. Finito!

The lowers are now in stock and available for purchase, those with back orders please contact us. The Shooting Edge will receive their shipment next week, for the CGN crowd that has been waiting to receive them.

Upon installation you may be required to trim the spring for the bolt hold open assembly as the spring in some cases is putting to much pressure on the mag follower, not allowing it to push the bolt hold open up far enough. If that is the case and you need to trim your spring please let us know and we will send you a factory swiss spring free of charge. The spring in the factory lower was made with the tension of the swiss mags and not AR mags.

Is this a way of simply saying the bolt hold open doesn't work 100% with AR-15 mags? Does the gun work with the spring as-is?

He's saying the bolt hold open on the Swiss lower has a strong spring that may hold down the follower on AR15 magazines. It's a pretty straight forward explanation.

maybe i should have used crayons?????? hahahahahah.

The bolt hold open will work 100%, 100% of the time, it may require you to trim 3-4 coils of the bolt hold open spring, which if that is the case we are going to replace......

New springs are being shipped to us from Swiss and they will probably come installed in future lowers. As i said before, if a spring needs to be trimmed we will gladly send out a 2nd one for the original factory lower so that it can be put back in OEM condition. So far, on the first delivery which is pretty close to selling out we have not had anyone mention this as an issue. We felt it best to be up front with our customers so that its not a surprise should it happen and have an explanation of how to remedy the problem should it occur.

As a purchaser of two of these units, was there an intended aim to prevent the use of P-Mags, without the need to either dremel the s**t out of the mags or the magwell?

PM sent. Not sure what to say to this as they are from a batch that are being used by LEO in europe, and all that is being used in them are Pmags.

You guys managed agency sales to Euro LE? I'm impressed. Did they just want the ability to use AR stocks and mags badly enough to replace their stock lowers?

I am wondering about the appearance of the finish. It looks a bit milky, not flat black. Is it just the pictures? Compared to the black uppers, it looks like it went through the dishwasher too many times.

I am going to wait to purchase a complete lower.
Any rough eta?

These things do look great, and I am proud to support a Canadian manufacturer.
Looking forward to seeing the free floated uppers to complete my SA!
