Written or re-written? And believe it or not sometimes they (the winners) get it right. And in this instance they must have or else the other side wouldn't be so rabid trying to tear it down.

On purpose. We will forever be under the thumb of those who hold the massive debt we owe and have no way of ever paying off. And all that spending bought us what. Name a single thing that got better as a result. I can name a few that didn't.

What was left to save. These pistols have been in service, what, 80 years. Ever see what passes for trucks in our military? Most are older than 50% of the members here, clapped out antiques. These pistols have seen 5 used to make 4 usable, for decades. Thousands of hands, thousands of rounds, members holding the same pistol their great grandfather used.
That's the real issue.
 
Let's face it. Between the Canadian Government and the CAF, it's pretty much guaranteed that it would cost the tax payer more money than they would take in if these were sold.

If you want to look at it from the tax payers' point of view, tossing the lot into a smelter would be more economical than collecting, cataloging, listing, selling, processing payment, etc.

Now if they took all those pistols, spare parts and accessories and sold them as a lot to one broker, they might just break even. But we know that would also never happen.

Liberals gets the country deep in dept. When the Conservatives gain power, they reduce the dept.

But they don't give out the freebees, like the former party did, so it's back to the Liberals.

And the vicious circle cycle continues. Nothing new!

Apparently, the government is considering NOT selling their old police vehicles to the public anymore after the Nova Scotia incident.

Another colossal waste of the taxpayers money.

You should also note that the DND is not selling their SMPV's to the public anymore either; selling them only for scrap, so the days of buying an old Army truck and doing it up are also over..

It's worse than that. Several provinces are actively going after making ex-military vehicles illegal to operate on public roads or refusing to license them (BC and Quebec). This includes WW2 antiques that have been on the road for many decades without problems.

War is the direct result of government.

No person, acting alone, paying out of their own pocket, could ever convince or pay enough people to come even remotely close to committing the kind of atrocities that National governments have inflicted on others, including their own citizens.

You mean survivors? A lot of good men and women fought and died to win WWII but weren't around to celebrate.

Meanwhile ask any American historian about how they lost the Vietnam war, or how they lost the second Iraq war, and they won't know what you were talking about, because they think they actually won.

The overwhelming amount of armed conflicts in our history have been due to leftist governments on power trips. Plain and simple.

Governments are evil yet we keep allowing them to run our lives.
