Canadian Rangers C19

Why no CRF is an interesting question.

Let's speculate :)

Some people think you can't single load a CRF like a Ruger from the top

All bolt actions in current military service are push feed as far as I know

Few CRF bolt actions have 10 round detach magazines

CRF rifles are often more expensive to manufacture than PF. Maybe that is the real reason. :)

But I too would love to know the results of the report!

The biggest reason there is no CRF is that the Tikka is made in Canada and happens to be a push feed !:p

I know red is the color associated with Canadian Rangers, they wear red coats. But if things get serious, they leave the red coats at home so they don't become targets, right?
So my question is: why the heck is the rifle red?? Terrible idea. It should just be grey laminate.

I have been issued a C19 and I have seen approx 15 of them on range practices....one of the 15 had serious feed issues...the feed lips have some sharp corners and perhaps a little bit of polishing would be in order make them feed really smoothly...most are on par with feeding from a brand new #4 rifle....as with any brand new issue rifle there are bound to be a couple tweaks required

stock made in canada action made in canada magazine made in canada hard and soft carrying case made in canada ammo made in canada cleaning tool kit made in canada... what is actually made in canada or fit in canada? maybe the barrel

Sorry I mean that the FN/Winchester Model 70 is made in Belgium, and I couldn't see FN licensing Colt Canada or manufacturing the Model 70 here, though that would be pretty awesome.

Makes it easier to find if it falls into deep snow.

Imho: The C19 is the latest shinning example of how messed up & possibly corrupt the whole procurement process is here in this banana republic. The absurdity of this purchase is only out weighed but by the people who try to justify it...

The C19 rear sight has nothing in common with the trajectory of the issued ammo....I am guessing perhaps standard nato ball is what its set up for but I have yet to test my theory...

Does the C19 have two versions of the rear sight like the Arctic? Also does the 6.5 creed have a different rear sight?

What do you figure the chances are of the Canadian rangers engaging anything but a herd of caribou or the odd bear with a C19?

If it’s an actual enemy invasion I don’t think the colour of their rifles will be what determines survival

I’ve met more than a few Canadian rangers and if they are engaging in combat we are in serious trouble, red hoodies or not

I just texted with a friend who is a Ranger on the East coast - he loves his C19.
Good trigger, no mag issues, and very accurate with the irons.
In his words " It does everything exactly as it is supposed to"

I tried one out for an afternoon. With federal GMM 168gr, it was point of aim, and 1/2moa with a scope right out to 800m. It shoulders very nice for me. Weight seems balanced and not too heavy. No hiccups with feeding or extraction. With hand loads, this would do even better. And absolutely no magazine issues like the OP has.

I think a lot of internet warriors need to actually try one out before putting the C19 in that great garbage heap. Because, it does exactly what it is supposed to do.
