Canadian Tire Greatness

I got my fav pack of condoms once

Durex-pleasuremax I believe, the pink package

And it was for sale for like 3$. I asked to make sure it was correct, and it was.

I call that a Win Win for that night ;)

Wait, you asked for a price check on condoms?

All i can say is KAMA is a #####.

- Kāma (Sanskrit, Pali; Devanagari: काम) is translated from Sanskrit as pleasure, sensual gratification, ###ual fulfillment, pleasure of the senses, desire, eros, or the aesthetic enjoyment of life.

Doesn't sound like a ##### to me?? w:h:

And why is that?

Just because you think that he took advantage of the situation? A mod even came into this thread to try to set all the persons who judged him for this straight, by saying that persons don't even know all the facts. For all we know there was a final sale on inventory for this particular store and they dumped all the ammo they had in a blowout.

Mind you the OP has not come back to better explain the situation doesn't help any, but on the other hand. With all that is being said in this thread ... I wouldn't either.

Agreed.

I can't believe how long and stupid this thread is. Canadian Tire isn't crying over a few dollars lost on the sale of ammo.

Companies often take advantage of consumers every chance they can. I for one will try to take advantage of them every chance I can. No one is going hungry becuase someone saved a few dollars on ammo due to their error.

Is it unethical to pay what was asked? Not at all

I would have taken it to. Something similar to this happened to me a couple years back and when I pointed it out to the cashier, she said that they are obligated to give it for the scan price if its cheaper. Thats what she told me so I say go for it and take all the ammo you can.

One time $650,000 got accidentally deposited in my back account. I didn't have to give it back... the bank just took it. That was a very happysad day.

On a serious note in California citizens will be required to submit a thumb-print when buying ammo for handguns then there will be no more mistakes at the checkout.

seen it before....had them scan it to be sure and it came up as 25-30 or however much it was but they wouldnt sell it at that price just one of those non fighting mood days i guess

Maybe I am a bit sensitive to this than most. I own a small business, about the same size as a small canadian tire. Sometimes people rip me off for several hundreds of dollars. It is not fun.

How many people rushed to their CTC to see if they could get a "deal", and when they couldn't, wrote in to condem this lucky ba*turd?!

Haha yes, I was escorted like a criminal. And for all of you self righteous feeling people out there, I in fact told the employee, AND the manager that the price was wrong, they are worth significantly more than what they were saying they are, but they said,"Well that's what they're marked as, so that's what we're selling them as." So don't you judge me for taking a good deal, I mean CT screws me buying any other ammo, I warned them and made it clear it was a mistake, and IN FACT they even forgot to ring one of the boxes in on my receipt, so i went back to pay for the one they missed, also their mistake. So sorry, If that seems dishonest to you.

Seems legit to me. I would have done the same thing. CT bends you over when it comes to ammo, why not do it back. Job well done.

And for all you high and mighty, glorious people of the morally perfect lives, how does judging a person as a crackhead thief and scammer without knowing the facts sound, huh, sound pretty honest, like someone of "good character"? And for your information, I work my a$$ of at my job at Ford, 5 days a week, earn the money I spend, and pay a third of the money I make to taxes.

Thanks for your expertise. If you have 150,000 to invest you can buy one too. Everyone is a mom and pop operation. They are like Tim Horton's everyone is individually owned and operated. There are no chain stores like walmart, zellers or whatever.

So exactly how many shares of Canadian Tire Corporation will I get for my $150k? You are referring to their dealership sales. Yes stores are 'co-managed' by a dealer/owner and the company but the supply chain, marketing, purchasing, advertising (I think, it's been a while) and inventory system are all owned and managed by the corporate body Canadian Tire. And, as I wrote in my previous post, there is NOTHING mom and pop about Canadian Tire as there is nothing mom and pop about Tim Horton's, McDonalds, Starbucks etc. There is a difference between the franchisee and the franchisor (not the correct terminology here but I think you know what I am trying to say). Even in a dealership situation Canadian Tire owns the land and building, charges rent for same and takes a nice percentage of gross margin. It would be just as accurate to say that all stores are corporate since the company owns a piece of every one. All the Dealer really is is a glorified manager who has been suckered into paying for the inventory...

Your still mixing up the two. As you stated the store owner owns the inventory. If someone pays for 1 and gets ten they are taking from the guy who owns the inventory. The mom and pop. They are not ripping of the landlord, distribution, marketing behemoth that is canadian tire corporation.

If you went to tim hortons and paid for one donut and the clerk made a mistake and gave a dozen. The store owner would be out his donuts TDL group would not be out anything.

If you went to walmat and the samething happened, well you would be taking the 9 boxes of rimfire from the heirs of sam walton and all the other shareholders of walmart stock.

My point in all this is not that any stealing is good. But rather to clear up the misconception that if you take inventory without paying you are not taking from the big canadian tire corp. You are actually taking from joe blow who is trying to meet his payroll on Friday. This distiction is lost on you even though you have worked one of the stores. It will most likely be lost upon someone who is dropping by to pick up some toilette paper.
