Canpar using horse and buggy to deliver?

Canpar is great in my neighbourhood. What really sucks is the OP complaints but then don't bother noting their location. For all we know you live in Timbuktu with expected lousy delivery.

Just live in the middle of lower mainland. All the delivery companies are great here. Canpar depot is 5 minutes from my place.

If you scroll down 5 posts from the OP, you will see... Or you could just post without reading. Twice.

Easy solution for those who do not like waiting for shipping,,, use your LGS and pay the extra 10-20% for what you want and they may not have it so you wait for them to get it in ,,, a couple weeks and pay the shipping, then you drive back to the LGS ( your gas) and pick up your product!
I have to say in all honesty, some times the LGS works and also if you a buying high priced gear, it is nice to hold it and check it over before taking it home!

Canpar put 2 packages of ammo with courier on June 3rd. They have lost one of the packages (500 rounds of 308) the other one was left on my door step without a knock or door bell (I was in the room beside my front door all day long). They do really suck!!! I'm still working with Canada Ammo to find a resolution to the 500 rounds of .308 I paid for. I went to do the Canpar depot in person twice and left my phone number to get a response, they have not called in over a week. Oh and I live in Saskatoon, the largest city in Saskatchewan.

Restricted purchase finally approved.
Checked tracking # and saw this:
"Shipping Date 2015-06-08
Estimated delivery date 2015-06-17 (by end of day)"

9 days shipping?
never saw this long of a shipping time in my many purchases from Canam.
something must be wrong.

edit: P.S. canpar sucks.

canpar is all miss for me, once left a package outside my door unsigned, rets of time once due date goes by no updates and only arrives several days later, and then you have to go chase it down.Once I spent two hrs at their warehouse as they couldnt find it cause they put it in wrong place sigh.

Wow sorry to hear that, hope it gets resolved, i must have lucked out got a good guy snd nothing lost yet some stuff shows up. A day or two early! They seem to need to up their consistency across the country!

He was making a shot at CanAm... I am one of those patiently waiting (for a few years) for the CanAm version to arrive in country.
He was making a shot at the OP for his complaint, actually. I've also been waiting on the T97 for many years, but there's a difference between waiting on purchased goods and waiting on desired goods (in case my sarcasm wasn't obvious). If I'm not mistaken, even the early t97 pre-orders with deposits have been refunded (or at least offered), so our time spent waiting isn't really valid.

I'm with the OP, CanPar sucks. I hope CanAm goes through with a change as they seem to be exploring currently. They will be more inclined to change their service provider when they get feedback like in this thread. Though many will be quick to dismiss this as worthwhile, and try reminding the OP that at one time, they waited months for goods after mailing cheques with mail-order forms using quill pens, over candlelight listening to their AM radio.

This whole "I WANT IT NOW!!!!" phenomenon is new to me....I think it's a generational gap, or entitled mentality of a younger generation. I personally don't understand it as it's just a selfish ME ME ME #####fest with no understanding how a business actually may operate. A business may only ship once or twice a week due to location, or courier availability, so yeah 2-5 business days is not ridiculous before you get a shipping confirmation. Again, guns have to be shipped by ground whether it's CP or Canpar, the estimated delivery dates are probably the same for both from one side of the country to the other. If it takes a few extra days to get your ####, will your #### fall off? Will your friends call you a loser? Will your mother disown you, or kick you out of the basement?
Most adults have bigger daily problems then when is my package going to arrive...

Does the canpar depot have hours where you are? Neither of the 2 in Sask do which means you have to beat the delivery guys to work to attempt to get a package. I don't like canpar due to these issues but to their credit they take shipments that most other companies will not. As for their delivry times/standards they appear normal to me. This is why I don't buy ammo online and when I buy firearms I request canada post.

I am guessing you are a delivery guy when not trolling CGN.

I really don't mind that it takes a few days to get something from one side of the country to the other..after all, we are not Luxembourg. But, what I hate about CanPar is their tracking...like when several days after the item has been shipped, you check to see where your package is, and see that the info is vague, and, Oh! The package is to be delivered today, but Santa doesn't come. So you go back and have a look the following (day) only to see it say that it is with a courier, and that is all.

Same with CP it shows pick up and then in transit till the tell you the lazy carrier carded it out to the post office, cat least Canpar tries again, I know my Canpar gut pretty good now and that helps! Also Canada Post only keeps the parcel ( I just recieved a rifle the other day. Carded out again)for so long and then send it back to the supplier! I have to get hold of the post office and beg them to hold it till I get home, (I work away from home). It depends on who you get whether they will accomodate you!

What I do mind is what is currently happening...delivery was supposed to have been yesterday. Nothing. Called CanPar customer service. Told that it will be delivered today. Nothing. Check the website..."With courier'. And I can't call tomorrow.
Unfortunately, this is a problem with all the couriers to rural areas (assumption). The contractor likely does not want to burn the gas for the few dollars he gets for the few packages he has for your area
