canpar

I was expecting something to be delivered by Canpar this week. I looked up the tracking number and it said that there was a "non-attempt" on thursday and then nothing on friday.

What the heck is a "non-attempt" ?? Someone was home on thursday and they didn't come to the house and there was no note left indicating a delivery attempt or anything.

My Wansralls order was promptly shipped then never delivered and dropped back at Wanstalls.

My CANAM order has been "held in terminal " for a week. Over two weeks to deliver 2 hours drive away.

Purolater comes from Vsnderhoof (10 hours drive) and delivers in less than 24 hours.

Never really had a beef with Canpar till now

Well my UPS package was out for delivery for 4 days to finally make it to me, my CanPar package came on time, right now the guy that is doing the CanPar/Loomis in my area is great, he even calls if you aren't home to ask if you want it delivered somewhere else or left somewhere at your home, I'll choose him over the yahoo UPS subs out to any day, the old guy just doesn't cut it.

It has lots to do with drivers and what terminals in what areas, CanPar use to be horrible in my area, always a week late, Purolator was best and at one time they did UPS deliveries local to me, now UPS subbed someone else and they are terrible every time now. Purolator is still good, but can be sloppy now as the lady that was running it won a million dollar lotto and is gone, new girl is younger and bit less ambitious but gets the job done most of the time.

In the end they all have their ups and downs, I know several times when my Canada post package has sat in the local mail room from fri to Monday because they were too busy jamming junk mail flyers instead of sorting the harder express post packages on a fri afternoon so they would make delivery date.

Kettle should NOT be calling the pot black. Seems you have as much knowledge of shipping laws as your complaint about drivers with firearm laws.
Canpar has no idea or at least the driver that comes to my house about firearms law

The courier has dropped rifles and ammunition in my garage without me present just the sign slip. Also when present never asked for my PAL. Does the courier have to do this or only the initial shipper?

I'm awaiting a CanPar delivery now. ETA was yesterday ( end of day...whatever that meant). The day ended and nothing showed up.
Checked their tracking and ended up with an empty page. Repeated multiple times and nothing. Emailed and nothing.
Not impressed right now!

If you live outside the lower mainland in BC ,Loomis will be delivering your shipment.

Seems Canpar was finally able to locate my package. Vancouver to Prince George via Toronto. Must be a short cut that I never knew about. However, just because they located it does not mean it will make it to my doorstep anytime soon. Some Companies advertise overnight delivery, seems these guys slogan should be delivery in a week or more!

CANPAR service is usually fantastic in my experience. I've been getting all the ammo and firearm parts for my shop from my main supplier through them for 8 years now and have had nothing but rapid service so far. If i place my orders before 1:00 pm between Monday and Wednesday, it comes in at 2:00 pm the following day from 450km away.

JUST THINK OF IT, ALL SUCH COURRIER SERVICES ARE SWAMPED WITH WORK BECAUSE OF THE CANADA POST PROBLEM AND CAN'T OFFER THEIR USUAL QUALITY SERVICE!!!

Have had no problems with can par yet . UPS has been hit or miss.
I was waiting for a delivery from ups , sitting at the kitchen table monitoring the tracking #, then , it said delivery attempted and no one home. I was home all the time .
UPS is bad if you order from the USA. they will nail you on brokerages charges. I order hot tub chemicals from Florida.
shipping is $40 us , a month after delivery I get an invoice in the mail from them for another $80 for brokerage and hazmat fee's.

I avoid using UPS for anything From USA. If that is the only way the ship , I simply say sorry , cant buy from you then

We all know that they are swamp. My point is, they should advertise the fact. We pay for a certain level of service and if they are having issues maintaining that level of service tell the customer up front, not after they fail to meet their own time line!

Same here on both accounts, basically told them to pack sand and didn't pay it, the amount they wanted was more than the item and shipping, I had also called them and got a price ahead of time giving them all the info, it just went away never haunted me.

Another time I sent a ignition box from my snowmobile to the US to get reprogrammed at no charge, guy sent it back with a value for insurance but clearly stated it was a return to Canada item, month or so later get a letter with a bill same thing taxes, duty, brokerage on my own item, ignored it, they called I told them to get bent and it also went away.

I now avoid them like the plague and will not use them from the US, in the last 20 years have only caved once on something that came direct from manufacture and was 150lbs so only option as they were the only ones that made what I needed to my specs.

My package was estimated to be delivered by "End of day" on 5 Jul. Every night since then, the CANPAR tracking website has shown "non-attempt" by 1800hrs. On Thursday night, the tracking number didn't work. On Friday morning it worked and status was changed to "non-attempt" and has remained with that status ever since. A number of emails and phone call asking if there is a new estimate of delivery has turned up nothing.
So much for paying $20 for 2 day expedited delivery.
At least I can leave the house now, knowing it will not be delivered any time soon.

Calgary to Vancouver: 4 days (long weekend)
Vancouver (Via Burnaby) to Victoria: 1 day
Victoria to my house: 5 days and counting
I can't even get hold of anyone to ask if I can pick it up.

I'm having a similar problem and when I try to track it, it shows "non-delivery attempt"

So I guess that means they are "attempting" to NOT deliver it?

One would think that not delivering something is pretty easy and not all that hard to accomplish that they have to actually "attempt" to not deliver?

I guess if they deliver, that means that their attempt at non-delivery was a failure?

CanPar | Never Again

80 minutes for CanPar rep to answer the phone this afternoon, rude woman comes on the call, I provide 2 tracking numbers very patiently waiting for her to keep up

- package 1 is attempted delivery and after first attempt we dumped your package at an undisclosed location, nobody knows where it will go, maybe call back tomorrow, or maybe the next day.

(for reference last time they dropped off a 10,000 primer order at a getto neighbourhood convenience gas station/chicken shack in North End Winnipeg filled with street level dealers and gan$tas, the sweaty dude filled with jailhouse tats serving up fried chicken finally found the box after 15 mins of searching in with his potato chip delivery, I live in a nice neighbourhood, why send it there?)

- package 2 is still sitting in the depot, tracking says out for delivery by end of day today, rep has no clue when they will bother to unload the truck, whenever they feel like it.

I ask politely to speak with a supervisor, employee laughs and hangs up.

I filed a complaint via email tonight demanding a supervisor contact me, but I'm not holding my breath.

NEVER AGAIN - A word to dealers, I spend $30,000 in online shopping each and every year - if you continue to use CanPar you will not see 1 cent of my business.

End Rant Here.
