canpar

I'm awaiting a CanPar delivery now. ETA was yesterday ( end of day...whatever that meant). The day ended and nothing showed up.
Checked their tracking and ended up with an empty page. Repeated multiple times and nothing. Emailed and nothing.
Not impressed right now!

I also had something delivered with them in the last week. Their tracking system is garbage but the gun did arrive on time. I called their customer service and their tracking worked fine, not sure why it didn't follow suit online to me. I'm sure they're overwhelmed with people avoiding Canada Post, but the nice ladies at the Promontory location said the strike is off the table so Canada Post is good to go again!

Seems Canpar was finally able to locate my package. Vancouver to Prince George via Toronto. Must be a short cut that I never knew about. However, just because they located it does not mean it will make it to my doorstep anytime soon. Some Companies advertise overnight delivery, seems these guys slogan should be delivery in a week or more!

If your package went to Toronto first it most likely had an old shipping label on the box some where as it goes through the Loomis facility and is auto sorted by a postal code that is imbedded in the barcode on the shipping label.

I have shipped 5 guns by Canpar in the last two weeks and the service has been impeccable.
Packages delivered in half the time it takes Canada post and the cost is about the same.
I may use them even after the strike threat is gone, only negative is the depot is a 15 minute drive as opposed to 3 for the post office.

Won't use CANPAR ever. If that's the only shipping offered, I don't buy. I am not usually home during the day, and their pick-up location here, and the hours available for pick-up make it darn near impossible for me to even do that.

I used to import pistols from the US. whenever they came by UPS, they always screwed up the paperwork. I pronounced their name as OOPS. Plus, they always charged me $35 for some kind of importation fee. When I got them by FedEx or mail, there was no importation fee. One time, I bought a shotgun from Maine, USA. I wasn't home during the day, OOPS didn't leave a card and it was returned to Maine. I had to pay again for shipping.

Tomorrow is two weeks since they picked it up.... Its a small AFG2 rail not an elephant..wtf?

Ok. Edited update... It arrived today!!!
Not too shabby.. 13 days from BC to Toronto. Could have driven it here on a bicycle quicker. Makes me love CanPost all the more.

Re their scanning,, the last update I got was 5-6 days ago that it had arrived in Toronto.

And so the Canpar story of sorrow continues. My package was sent last Tuesday headed to Pg. Some how it ended up in Toronto, so they finally found it last Friday and sent it this time to Edmonton instead of Pg. They are now telling me that I might have it next Tuesday, that is a full 2 weeks after being pickup at the business in Vancouver where it was purchased. The people I have talked to on the phone, with one exception have been polite and help full. Is Canpar a Crown Corporation? I figure there is only a 15 percent chance I will get it next week. This outfit is making Canada Post look good, maybe that is there true mission.

Also waiting on a package from canpar. Supposed to show up today. The tracking has said Moncton since the 7th. Called, was hung up on, called again and they took my number and said they will call me when to expect delivery. I have my doubts but fingers are crossed that the package actually gets here.

I'll add to negative canpar feedback. My pistol was shipped on July 7 and delivery date was July 11 and no sign yet. Tried to use the tracking service but it said no info was available on my tracking number. I called and they said it hadn't arrived yet to their facility in Nova Scotia (Toronto to Nova Scotia shouldn't take this long). I have a bad feeling I won't get it until next week. My first experience with canpar has bee substandard.
