CANSOF IUR Clone thread

SureFire trainers are perfect for the SAS rifle, but we would need training versions of the Allen Engineering AEM5 for the CANSOF clone. Or hey maybe one day we can have the real thing....fingers crossed

Just saw some of the photos on reddit. Best me to posting about it Hilo.
On the other hand, cudos to Greentips for expressing the interest. Definitely be down if CC is willing to stsrr selling complete clone models. Even something close, like Geissele is doing with their URGI models. Training suppressor a la Surefire would be pretty sick too.

Can anyone identify his optic?

Speaking of the 10" SAS IUR. This was taken a few days ago during a terror attack in Nairobi. SAS operator:

SAS or not, this photo makes me cringe....badly.

Why's that?

He is not wearing his armour properly. It is way too low to cover his vitals.

It looks like he has the IR filter on his light, so I guess he is not using the PEQ 14 illuminator in certain situations because his hand will be blocking it while using the dual switch in front of the PEQ14. For close quarter diffused IR is probably better than the PEQ14 illuminator even with diffuser on. My guess is that his preference is laser pointer only and illumination using light with IR filter in close quarter.

But you kinda need a big hand if you want to reach over the top to use the PEQ14 rubber button. So not do-able for some people

A little back on track. If anyone else is interested in my cheater extender to use the factory 10” SAS barrel to make a close enough CANSOF clone let me know. Final order is going in next Friday and after that, I’ll be selling the original and won’t be able to make them again.

I am fairly certain this guy knows what he is doing.... most operators body armour looks out of place after chasing terrorists around city blocks for a few hours. Watch some of the video of this guy.

The official story is he had to basically run back to his car and throw on his ####, then run back to the hotel ASAP. Probably why it looks a bit out of place.

As a proud and impressed owner of a Colt Canada 10" SAS 3rd Gen. IUR, it makes me feel warm and giddy to see this SAS trooper get some with this setup. After reading about this attack, the SAS trooper was out shopping in the area and got the call of a terrorist attack, and then jumped into action. I think we can all cut him some slack on his "gear setup" it might not even be his personal kit....? Either way he is a a legit hero...he went toward the danger when he didn't have too and saved innocent people.

It does not get any better then that!

It’s an Aimpoint T-2 not sure of the mount. Laser is PEQ-15 not 14 like GT was mentioning. I believe it’s a Unity Tactical pressure switch for the light/laser.

I read that the SAS guy "engaged" 2 terrorists (pics show 2 tangos on a concourse level with headshots) and rescued hostages very early on. The other 3 terrorists held out somewhere in the hotel, until an assault ended the seige hours later. This guy was a vet of Iraq and Afghanistan, with very specific knowledge of the al shabob threat, which was why he was a training mentor for the Kenyan forces.

Ask North Sylva to order 200 or these as complete guns, like what they do with SA15.7 and SA20. This is possible if there is a show of demand.

If they can sell hundreds of C7 and C8 clones, I fail to see why people will not pay pretty pennies for a factory accurate CSOR clone

That is the only way to get a correct clone, instead of monkeying with things and swapping things around.

I had a chant with the CC commerical sales manager earlier. He is very interested in selling more to the commercial market. One of the things I suggested is making more accurate clones available ( and stop putting funky laser engravings on things )

So what can we do to make this happen, petition NS? Show up with suitcases of cash?
