I like to stand in front of the fish... when you see the pectoral fin sticking out to the left and the adipose fin sticking out to the right, you know its a good one!![]()
You know, this started as a sensible thread with a question of cartridge selection for moose, but you guys have just turned it into a farse..............500 J or 505 G.........that's a sensible question. My preference is the Gibs for sure, easier case to work with and less feeding issues without the rebated rim, they work well in a push feed though.

sooooo 505 necked down to a 9.3mm , never mind c-fbmi likely has already done this, seem to remember a thread along these lines were he's done some interesting cal. creations
Geez buddy, if a .243 Win with bonded or mono-metal bullets takes down a moose no problem at reasonable ranges, then of course we're going to have a bit of fun when someone asks if a .500 class round is going to be fine for moose hunting. OF COURSE...and elephant, water buffalo, anything on Earth!
Don't get constipated, enjoy a smile now and then! :-D
Good, he sounded a bit uptight though...![]()
I didn't for a minute think it was anything other than a fun thread.
Ted
Thank goodness Ted! I was just sitting back and thinking about the ".270 Win vs. .280 Rem", ".308 vs .30-06" types of threads and just threw this out there for fun. My "heavy" at the moment is a .30-06 with 220gr Partitions - and I know that it will do just about anything needed in North America. That is not saying I won't eventually get something bigger....for fun!
