Case Annealing - check out this bad boy!

Does anyone know why the Annie Induction Annealing device is so expensive? R&D isn't cheap but $500USD is steep.

The component seems simple enough for a basic unit. Ones on YouTube uses a coil inductors (wound 12g copper wire?) whereas the Annie has a horseshoe magnet looking inductor.

Has anyone tried sourcing and building a DIYer?

I sourced components for a electronic heat controller for my LEE melt pot that was half the cost of completed unit. Pretty sure mosfets, diodes, capacitors, heatsinks are cheap from eBay. Power supplies from old Servers are cheap (but noisy).

Works for commercial brass, i'd think they all use induction.

I had plan to use this
th

mounted on a press with a micro switch and a timer/relay circuit to operate it as the press was raised to bring the brass inside the coil. I have one at work I can borrow on a pass so was looking at 10-20$ to build my idea then borrow heater as needed. Have all the parts but found the machine at work lacking in wattage to work well.

I have only seen flame annealers in factory brass manf pics. Not to say induction is not used, just never seen nor heard of it

Maybe the Canadian market will be lucky and they will fork out the cost for CSA/cUL/ETL/etc approval on the unit.

These are plans and ebay links for parts. I'm building this one. Easiest I've seen

Mystic..That's a commercial operation. Check it out below. Have to Have to use the link, can't get to embed from my phone

Very interesting... looks like annealing after forming the main case body.

Either way, the tech is out there ... ah, progress.

When I get my MINI Gun..... sigh.

The simplicity of setting this thing up is what got me, setting up with the torch and drill you pretty much have to commit to running quite a few through the process, this baby you just hold the case and press the button, or step on the foot switch, it's almost so simple it hurts. I am still pacing the floor waiting for it's arrival, templique is here and ready to go

I own one of these induction heaters, never thought of using it for annealing. Great tool to have, maybe I'll give it a try.

Well...today is the big day. My Annie induction annealer shows up.

Looking forward to getting it unboxed tonight and maybe even playing around with it a bit.

Still need to wait on a few brackets and misc. other parts to mate it up with my current annealing system.
