Looking at getting a powered case trimmer as I can’t stand case trimming. Looking st Henderson or Giraud, which do you recommend

I have the Giraud Powered Case trimmer. Pricey but well worth it imo. The only thing I said once I got it was why did I wait so long.

This is how I powered my Lee case trimmer

Lock stud fits right in

Lee with a Ryobi 4V driver. Once the brass is fireformed after 2 or 3 firings, it gets full length resized with shoulder bump set to around 1 thou. Then trimmed to length with the Lee and neck turned to around 12 thou. Unless I screw up and bump the shoulder back excessively, repeatedly, it never needs trimming or neck turning again. The primer pocket loosens up at around 18 - 25 reloads depending on the caliber and loading, and at that point they are recycled anyway. As to the Giraud, etc, nice units, but some things just cost too much and are total overkill for the amount of use they will get.

My sentiment exactly. I still use a Forster trimmer for small jobs and odd cartridges. But for anything I shoot in serious volume, it all goes through the Giraud on every reloading cycle. Cartridge length is always the same, regardless of the number of reloads. And the cases are always nicely chamfered and deburred. Buy one and never look back.

Gracey trimmers are always overlooked or never mentioned. If you need to trim a large volume these make short work of it. Trims and chamfers inside and out in one simple operation, takes about 3 seconds a case.

I don’t hate trimming $500USD bad, but that’d be a sweet unit. The Gracey as well. For my higher volume varmint rounds I bought a couple of W.F.T’s. I really like them and find they take some of the pain out of trimming.

I have a Little Crow case trimmer from Brownell's. I use it in my milling machine but you could use it in a drill press or cordless drill held in a vise. It is a great tool for the money!

I just opted for the Hornady case prep center setup. Probably a silly price, but, others don't make all the case holders I need, and the case holders do add up as well. So, I said "silly price , so be it !!". At the moment it is 500.00US incl frt, plus gst & 10.00 for CPS fee, may possibly be duty, if it says made in China on the box, but, I am doubting that. I have a Forster I've used for 30 yrs or so, and a newer Hornady. Didn't want to hook up drills and etc., or go chuck one up in a drill press, so I opted for the all in one setup. It should show this wk perhaps, thinking Fri or Monday at worst. That'll likely be my last splurge on reloading gear.

Helpful hint, mine works best with Hornady shell holders for case trimming operation. Love it.
Otherwise cases will not be held in chuck properly and spin. Setup is much easier with the Hornady shell holders.
This is due to the slightly over-sized primer holes in the Hornady shell holders to function with most of their case trimming tools.
You might be able to get by for a while with other brand shell holders, but they require quite a bit of fiddling and chuck setting will loosen up quickly.

Very good video, but a bit long at 39 minutes.

I am aware of the Hornady shell holders , they have a .300 hole, have to drill out old RCBS and others, to use them on a Hornady lathe trimmer as well, same setup. I think the newer RCBS have the .300 hole now. That is a good vid on it, watched it before I'd ordered it.
