I am on the hunt for a case trimming system, the Lyman Easy-trim I have sucks and has proven to be unreliable.
Who makes the best case trimmer out there in your opinion ???

I've used the LEE set up for years, cheap and it works. Slow, but something to do during commercials (Back when I still watched MSM). Recently I bought a bore scope, after removing the carbon ring from a few barrels I noticed there is a lot of extra space for the neck to grow which I believe gives the carbon ring a home. I am going to only deburr for the next few loadings on one rifle and monitor the results.

I use this system and have trimmed 1000's of rounds successfully and accurately

The Frankford prep center is the model without the case trimmer attachment.
They Lyman Case Trim Express has a carbide cutter and the ability to adjust the trim with a dial in .001" increments, it also comes with bushings for most calibers but you can buy other calibers that it doesn't come with separately.
I bought both units on sale for a total cost of $350.
There are better all in one systems but they are like $1500

I use the RCBS collet/pilot trimmer. I do not like the collet system but it was a hand me down from my grandpa. So I will continue to use the freebie. I had the quick trim system before but I found it difficult to get cases a uniform length. The pilot trimmers you can set it for a certain length and it’s a fair bit more consitant.

Edit: I would like the Lyman trimmer mentioned above.

I am new to reloading, but also I noticed a cluttered workplace at friends mans cave, and I decided to go with a single Brand for all tooling.
Not cheap ... but I chose Wilson all in.

I have recently got the Lee Deluxe quick trim with a kit I bought for my son. Have yet to put it through its paces. It should be slick. Better if you buy the drill version of it.

I ordered the Deluxe trimmer and a .30-06 quik trim die today after watching the video and a couple of buddies also recomended it.

I went with Forster 40 years ago. A little more expensive to acquire, but still going strong.
Product improved trimming dies will trim and chamfer in one shot.
As a bonus you can use the setup to neck turn.
This kept me running even in my service rifle days.

I use the RCBS deluxe trimmer.
It works well but its finicky.
Since I switched to neck mandrels for my neck sizing, i find my cases hardly grow at all so i only and up needing to trim my 223.

The old tried, tested and true LEE case length gauges with the cutters and lock studs were part of my reloading setup for a good many yrs (mid 70's) Still are !
Watched Gavin's review's looked around and finally I bought one of the Frankfurt Arsenal Universal Precision trimmers few yrs ago. Found an almost new one here on the EE...Not as quick a set up as my old LEE c/l gauge, BUTTT...They work awesome ! Very repeatable, no issues wse ! Great purchase for me !

That is what I did and also still running like new, use a small cordless drill and couldn`t be quicker and produces excellent results:)

I tried many and the pilots on the manual lathes all rub the inside of the necks, ugly. I also have a bad hand so I went the power route. Never much of a fan of Lyman but for $200 the brass smith case trim express has been awesome so far. The only downside is it won’t do straight wall cartridges but I just use my Lee hand trimmer for my .444

For doing hundreds of competition brass you can’t go wrong, here is a link:

I chuck my Lee cutter and pilots into my drill press and my lock stud is epoxied into a big drawer pull knob .
Works great fir me .
All my pilots are held on a magnetic wall plaque beside the press .

I use the Lee case length guage system, it’s cheap and it works
I bought the 8-32 cutter to mount on my case prep station and it makes trimming much easier and faster

Henderson precision is the best power trimmer available.. its incredibly fast.. trims.. chamfer and bevel in one and its very accurate. Even when changing pilots.. its spendy but the time savings and the consistency is worth it.. I've trimmed alot of brass on mine and it's one of my favorite pieces of equipment on my bench..

Haven't heard of/seen the 8-32 cutter before. Thats a nice addition for anyone with a case prep centre already on the bench! I've been eyeing case prep centres for a while now and I think you just sold me on one.
