Cast Bullet ####

From what I got skimming through all 21 pages last night is that he is a cnc operator somewhere and made a few moulds as a novelty and never expected the positive response he got. Sounded like because he was using company equipment that production of moulds for others is a no go.

That's correct, I ordered a mold from him and had to borrow his picture from the cast bullet thread. It's a great novelty item that never gets used as the bullets don't fly worth a damn, its almost impossible to lube size them without deforming them. Now if he made a proper top punch we might have gotten somewhere...........

still worth a good laugh though............

I'll join in, on the left 312-180gr and right 324-174gr

I love cast bullets!! I'm up to 4 moulds now!!

I'll tumble lube the 405's again one more time and just shoot the balls as they are now. I was surprised that they didn't spread out much. I would shoot a deer under 70-75 yards with a 3 ball load if I had a good standing broadside or looking right at me shot. If a 45 cal muzzle loader and 140gr ball works, 3 of them at the same time in a 6 inch circle would work just fine.

I have played with 4gr of unique and a ball pushed in right against the powder, etc and they work pretty well for a quiet grouse shot when you are walking. I haven't chronied it but it can't be more than 600-700 fps. I have been busy over the past year or two.. Maybe I'll do a write up about fun loads for the 45/70. I have read a few and I have been playing for years. I have even figured out the solution to the rifled donut in a shot load.

Absolutely. He has some real interesting designs. I think the hot dog and football are pretty cool.

Made these yesterday. 45-70 405 gr. NOE mold.

Good bullets but a pia to make. Those straight cut lube grooves make the bullets prone to stick in the mold and need some banging to get them to release.

Goddamn the man who invented the Phillips screw!

It was a step up from a slotted at the time.......just had to be refined a couple more times to get to a Robertson......Henry Ford could have made it really famous but he refused to pay the fair value at the time.........there is a really good documentary on the Robertson screw if you ever get a chance to see it........
