Looks like you're using the muffin pan ingot molds. I switched to the the mini muffin pans and prefer them because the ingots only weigh about 1/2 pound each and melt really quickly in the casting pot & don't lower the alloy temp much. You can get mini muffin pans with about 24 cavities so you can cast a lot of ingots in a hurry.

I use a 6 cavity LEE mold. After I leemented it the boolit's just fall out.
Now I have to pre melt in my old 10lb pot to keep my 20lb'er working.

I warm the larger ingots on a hotplate to just below melting temp, they melt quickly when added to melt

I cast until the pot gets low then dump the sprues back in and add two muffins to the pot and quick melt them with the propane torch.

I also started using Moly spray lube as a mould release agent,If your still smoking your moulds you really need to try the moly lube.

I've been looking for the mini muffin pans but I can't find any that are not non-stick. Does anyone use non-stick pans for ingot molds and if so, are there any probems with them?

I reversed the base plate on my 10# pot and mounted over my 20# RCBS pot. By doing so I have 10# of hot lead ready to refill the larger pot all the time.

To the OP if you buy a cheap computer fan from Canadian Tire ($10.00 locally here) it will help in keeping your molds cooler.

Take Care

computer stores will have them cheaper, sub $5.

to OP, how do you find the 9mm tumble bullets shoot? what are you shooting them too and what are you sizing them too?

I size them to.356 (9 mm) and .452(45 ) They shoot ok for me,I am by no means a great shot,I hit the eight by ten target 90 times out of 100 at fifty feet,The resident pro at our range can use my gun and put them all in the black at fifty feet.I never see any leading with these, compared to regular lubed cast boolits in my 41 mag leaves me with small strings of lead when cleaning.

Non-stick work fine. Lead doesn't stick to them and the non-stick coating seems unaffected by the molten alloy.

some people have the non-stick coating burn off and leave bubbles in the ingots once made. doesn't seem to affect the lead, but just leaves bubbles from the chemicals gassing.

I made the mistake of buying a good looking set of pans only to find out some pans are are made in separate pieces with the muffin cups falling out of the pan along with the lead,Make sure yours are stamped in one piece.

WTF! Were you watching me from space or what. Thats my set up also. Although I have found that just ramming the dry bullets through the Lee sizer works just as well as pre-lubing them.

Cheers and good shooting.

I warm the alox in the microwave about ten seconds before use.For the first lube i use about a teaspoon full for the 600 (45) let dry overnight,The final lube i use about two teaspoons.
