CC in Canada..what would you carry?

Infinity Tiki stainless 1911 .45 ACP in a shoulder holster
Glock 19 9mm in an OWB/ small of back holster
S&W M&P 9 Compact 9mm in an IWB/cross-draw holster
Ruger LCR .38 in an ankle holster

All at once! :d Just because...

Best way to find out is to get into IDPA where you must appear to be unarmed, shooting from concealed carry. If it doesn't work there, chances are it won't work on the street either. The rest is just a bunch of wet dream fantasies .....

Much better carry options than a PPK and much better ways to carry than a shoulder holster. You have no control over who the muzzle is pointing at and they're unnecessary bulky.

I'd rather not walk around with my gun randomly pointing at family and friends.

The PKK is a good option. More accurate than most carry size pistols and the weight balances recoil very well for rapid follow up shots. I have a nice kydex pocket holster for mine. The "hooked" pocket holster conceals well with no pistol outline showing, confortable to carry and easy to make a controlled draw.

If no magazine limit-
Concealed: FNS9 Compact
Open Carry: FNX 45 Tactical

With current magazine limit:
Concealed: 1911A1 Commander with 7rd mag in the gun and 2 10rd mags for backup
Open Carry: 1911A1 Government with 10rd mag in the gun and 2 10rd mags for back up
or M&P45. If I'm only getting 10 rounds, they better be the biggest I can handle and shoot quickly.

Now I'll look into that, not even sure we have that in quebec (surprise...)

If you have IPSC in la belle province, chances are there is IDPA as well.

We had our weekly indoor IDPA practice last night. Wearing our gear, none of us appeared to be armed wearing seasonal clothes. In warmer weather, all it takes is a vest or lightweight jacket.

Yup no IDPA in QC

I just joined IDPA Canada to see the requirement for matches in Ontario and will try to maybe attract them in QC. We had IPSC nationals or provincials 2 years ago if my memory is right. No reasons not to have IDPA

I didn't say it wasn't a good gun, there are just much better options. You could carry a number of 9mm pistols that are smaller or lighter. Even a Glock 26 is the same weight and carries almost twice as many rounds.

On a more serious note, the grip is the hardest part to conceal. A few years back, I got to play with a G17 that had been bastardized to take G26 magazine... Though it was a neat idea.

- 10rds on tap, easier to conceal
- Carry a full length 17rds magazine as a backup, in case you're dealing with a hoard of zombies

And from my seat-of-the-pant meter, it had less felt recoil than a PPK
