CC in Canada..what would you carry?

Depends on other laws that may be in place (mag limit still around? minimum barrel length still around?) but I would go and buy all or a subset (based on the previous questions) of this list and rotate based on watch matches my wardrobe LOL.

Glock 19
S&W M&P9 Compact
Commander length 1911 in .45
HK P7
Snubnose .357 (Ruger LCR? S&W 340?) with .38+P

Probably never happen but if CC became an option to us law abiding citizens in Canada what would you choose as your everyday carry?
Since I'm not (12.6) my choice would probably be a Glock 36 (with a Canadian bbl:rolleyes:) loaded with 45ACP defensive rounds/low recoil hollow points. Light, compact and stopping power!
Heck, I just may pick one up just because.

You seriously think you need a .45 to stop someone? a 9mm is more then enough if you know how to shoot.

As I assume we are talking carrying restricted pistols.

I'd be carrying a Heckler & Koch P7, either a PSP, M8 or M13. I have an M8, so I'm ready to go if this dream ever became reality!!! :)

A P7 is compact, it's a very accurate 9mm, it's one of the safest pistols to carry loaded, but is ready to shoot as it's being drawn.

Agreed. It does have one drawback... weight. For its size, it is very heavy. Carrying that heft does take it's toll. I would still carry mine if CC became a reality. A close second place would be a G19 or G26.

Believe it or not I vote for the TT-33 for cc. very slimlined and reliable. 7.62x25 packs a real punch too!

How many people are you intending to 'neutralize' with one bullet? 3, 4?
Or to shoot right thru 2 bullet proof vests?
Well, if you actually hit the target :D

more accurate than most rifles:D

I don't know...never shot anyone before and hope I never will. I'm a bad shot so I figure if I had to shoot someone in self-defense hopefully I'll only need one bullet. I figure .45ACP would just about stop anyone no matter where you hit them. I'm thinking hollow points would prevent over-penetration....but what do I know?

If I were to carry something I actually own right now, probably my Browning Hi Power in .40, particularly if magazine limits were still in force (it has 10 round standard capacity magazines). Otherwise, I would most likely go with some sort of Glock or S&W M&P, perhaps with a J Frame as a backup.

I would avoid "mouseguns" in calibres like .25, .32, or .380. 9mm in auto pistols and .38 Special in revolvers are a prudent minimum for personal defence.

As much as I like 1911s, I'm not sure that I would be willing to incur the cost of at least two (one for carry, one for training/spare) identical duty-grade examples at upwards of $2000 each.
