CC in Canada..what would you carry?

Laugh2...I call :bsFlag:. There was not 1 flashlight in the ninja EDC kit. The other Dude had 3 one of which he sleeps with 'cause "you never know what kind of fight your going to be in" I guess :p. Hey, what is an "EDC" anyhow?

ninjas are born with nightvision, it's actually one of those things that make ninjas... ninjas

now that makes some sense.....that's why I've never seen a ninja during daytime hours...hang on....come to think about it.....I've never seen one at night either.....do ninjas really even exist? I mean sure, you find the bodies but.....why?....how? :p

What you have never seen the ninjas around CGN. There everywhere. They have flashlights on their guns during the day at the range as well as many other dodads hanging off their guns that dont seem applicable to the situation. And, I once thought they only used edged weapons. Guess there are ninja gunnuts too. They feel most at home in their natural habitats which are usually large buildings or compounds filled with retail stores. If you ever meet one in person and are wondering about hood, they use them because ninjas are genetically highly susceptable to acne. The also wear long sleave gi's to hide the rug burn on there forearms. Experts think the burns might be caused buy armchairs of some kind. If you ever have to face one in battle there is only one breed of person that has a chance at winning. A beautiful woman believe it or not. They run at the mere sight of them. One day you will meet one Im sure. Just be careful when you do, they are a dangerous bunch:D

I don't understand why large handguns are listed as ccw guns in this thread. If we could carry there would be no 12.6. Just do a search of the most popular ccw guns in the USA. After a month gun shops would be selling out of small carry guns.

If you're going to be armed, arm yourself effectively or don't bother. I would not consider sales volume to be a meaningful indicator of suitability for purpose.

I thought concealed carry was allowed throughout most of the States from its(The United States') inception, I found the CCW page on Wikipedia which had a map of the United States which shows where/when CCW was allowed, and I would say this is a relatively new thing.

You have to remember Canada is technically a "May-issue", even though it is so hard to get it is much closer to "no-issue".

BTW Even a few European countries allow carry, off the top of my head Germany comes to mind.

I would carry something in a 10mm like a Glock 20-that way, I could come up with my own modern cool guy Clint Eastwood type saying if I ever had to educate a bad guy as to its practical application.

Where did you hear they can CC in Germany? You need a damn license, must be a certain age, must have muzzle on and certain leash length to walk a dog there.

Gun politics in Germany
[...]
Firearms carry permit
Firearms carry permits (Waffenschein) entitle licensees to publicly carry legally owned weapons, loaded in a concealed or non-concealed manner. A mandatory legal and safety class and shooting proficiency tests are required to obtain such a permit. Carry permits are usually only issued to persons with a particular need for carrying a firearm. This includes some private security personnel and persons living under a raised threat-level like celebrities and politicians. They are valid up to three years and can be extended. Carrying at public events is prohibited. Licensed hunters do not need a permit to carry weapons while hunting.

Small firearms carry permit
A small firearms carry permit (Kleiner Waffenschein) was introduced in 2002. It can be obtained without having to demonstrate expert knowledge, necessity or a mandatory insurance. The only requirements are that the applicant be of legal age, trustworthy and personally adequate. It entitles the licensee to publicly carry gas pistols (both of the blank and irritant kind) and flare guns. These types of firearms are freely available to adults; only the actual carrying on public property requires the permit. Similarly to the "real" or big permit, carrying at public events is proscribed.

For the purposes of the Firearms Act carries a gun, who exercises actual control over the outside of your own home, his business premises or its own fenced-in property. This permit to drive but will be granted only in exceptional cases. The requirement is that firstly, the applicant more than the general public is at risk and, secondly, a firearm is suitable to reduce the risk actually. Especially the latter is usually not the case. The firearm license documents the official permission to carry a weapon, though not always and everywhere: The law requires weapons restrictions before at events, festivals or elevators.
Not for anything but a gun permit is required. The transport of a weapon, for example, is generally allowed when the gun unloaded and in a sealed container is transported (no access-and not ready to fire) - for example in the locked boot. And do have to transport the weapons must match the legal requirement.
The hunter may carry hunting weapons, moreover, authorized to hunting, including the A-and subsequently, in the area, the training of hunting dogs in the area, for hunting or for protection of forest protection without weapons permit. He may also in connection with these activities, eg while traveling to and from the nearby area, lead the hunt not ready to fire weapons without licenses ( § 13 para 6 Weapons Act). The precondition is that the hunter is in possession of a valid hunting license year or day.

This is the wikipedia.de page translated to English (not proper obviously makes more sense in German).

Most notably the german verb Führen is translated as run and drove rather than carry (which is the proper meaning in this context). So "run"="carry" "drive"="carry"

J Frame!

Lets face it. That story above. If he would have had a J Frame and pulled it out, those kids would have run for their lives. If that didn't work he could dust off a round into the ground. They'd be gone.

Anyone know if someone with a valid CC license fires a round(as in the above example) have to file a police report to cover their a$$?
ie. what if the "BG" contacts the cops to say someone was shooting at them....

My mind changes every week. I love little guns. Anyone seen the new Beretta Nano?

http://www.berettanano.com/

I don't even like Beretta's that much but that gun is tiny!!! And I wouldn't pack anything under a 9mm. Too small. Id love a little .40 just for that little extra kick but a 9mm with some good quality loads would probably be fine.

I'd carry a Ruger SR-9 in IWB year-round, and maybe an FNP-45 in a jacket or something during the winter months.

Maybe after the LGR is gone, this can be on the political agenda next year or the year after. Here's hoping!
