Well originally I posted some time ago that there was a deal coming as indicated from a response by Korth. I used the general contact info on the Korth website. I received a response indicating that it would be up and running by the end of Aug. Since it's that time I decided to shoot him a follow up email and he told me that this was no longer the case and that they decided not to do the program. I then posted that info which conflicted to what others have been told. What a mess.

The other threads on this were closed to my dissipointment.

Anyways some behind the scenes PM led me to forward my email from Korth to a sales Rep at CC. Long story is this Ontario sales two has no idea what he's talking about and was told that. I was CC'd in that email.

He did not give me any additional details of this program.

I'm patiently waiting like the rest.

Korth and CC are just in this for the $$. Why the #### does CC even need a distributor like Korth for guns made and sold in Canada? Just adds to the cost, and keeps dealers from setting their own prices.

Thread title seems right, forum seems right, pretty sure the replies will stay on this topic.....crossing fingers, hope it doesn't get locked for some other reason, haha!

Thanks for the update OP.

A reason will be found. It seems the mods are hell bend on protecting Colt Canada's gouging of Canadian customers.

Is cc incapable of taking an order from retailers?? A middle man sounds like a pia that isn't worth the benefit of price fixing, seeing how many feel the msrp is appropriate.

Mr. Donut - You mean like this post, made right after yours?

What happens to all the Leo/mil who bought rifles at full pop then get screwed on x amount of money later on.

How many of us did in the first place? The least would be to provide a mail-in rebate of some sort if they decide to honour their word after the fact

Maybe it's because people can't seem to understand that it's Korth that is doing the gouging, not Colt Canada.

Many people at Colt Canada are as mad or madder than most of us by the pricing...it is arguable that a mistake was made in not having more control over final pricing and I would chalk this mistake up to a lack of experience in the civilian sales world.

A pretty big mistake IMO but this whole thing has left a sour taste in my mouth.
The world of contracts can't be new dealing with government agencies etc.

That's a BS excuse. If CC was so concerned they would stop shipping guns to Korth and/or adjust the terms to include control of pricing. Its easy to shift blame than to admit you're as profit greedy as the next guy.

I have wondered this as well. Why can't CC just sell to us directly and cut out the middle man?

Seriously? Just stop shipping guns to Korth? How exactly do corporations just adjust the terms of a contract after the fact?

We don't know the terms of the contract, but if it's a typical contract, you can't just arbitrarily cancel it without the other party incurring a prejudice for which you will be held liable for.

There are usually mechanisms for cancelling these things built into the language. If pricing wasn't one of them, CC can't do anything about it other than wait for their contract to expire.

Middle men are easier to deal with from the manufacturer's perspective: they only have 1 point of contact, whereas Korth deals with the dozens or hundreds of retailers and all their associated headaches
