CC MRR - Colt Canada IOP Program

I still don't understand the pre-sale thing all the dealers are doing.

While production will be ongoing, availability will be varied. Dealers are getting x number, and have decided to take orders in advance for those eager to want a place in line.

Stright forward. Like buying tickets for a concert months before the concert is set to play, instead of when the doors open.

I'm not sure they checked, but the average cop makes almost a base of 100k in Ontario. Military discount, for sure.

Sure they are paid well but what's your life worth? And when they clock out at the end of the day the risk and lifestyle follows them home. Plus this encourages them to hone their skills on their off time. There is really no downside to this.

So that you can rant and rave when the price drops a couple of months later?

Lol, so true. How much were the SA20 and SA15.7 when they were first released by Korth? Then they introduce the IOP, which was a significant amount off the MSRP (ALOT more than O'dell's IOP), the they drop the price for everyone to nearly the same cost as the IOP.

I was fortunate to have waited for the IOP (because there was no possible way I could afford the full MSRP at the time. In a way, I guess lucky I couldn't afford full MSRP?

I wish I waited for the blemished IURs though, lol! Spent a bit too much buying a pristine one just to beat it up anyway, but who knew they would have a Dutch over run of blemiahed uppers? That sort of thing doesn't exactly happen on a regular basis and it'd be impossible to predict.

I want one of these new rifles, but I did a bit too much spending the last few months and the wife is on my case about it. I'll have to wait out to see if the MSRP drops, or there's a better IOP. Definitely not for the Reservist private making $45 once a week on a parade night, lol!

Op, thanks for posting though, will be watching this thread. Would be interested to see the thoughts of folks new to Colt Canada and thoughts of those who were in on the first realease of CC products for retail sale.

And take that, or anything CC/O'Dell says, with a grain of salt. After unnecessarily having paid hundreds more for my SA15.7 rifles and later IUR because I was an early adopter, I'm going to sit this one out. Or at least until the dust has settled and they've gouged as many of us suckers as possible, before the inevitable price drops. I might jump back on the bandwagon at that point...maybe.

Yuuuuuuup

You have the reactions above, of two suckers who were in on the first release of the CC products. Xman and myself. Highly doubtful that there would be any different reaction from someone stiffed by two successive distributors! That kind of pure, unadulterated greed (eg. throwing customers under a bus in order to make a quick buck), is deserving of customer backlash and business failure, plain and simple.

I won't be in on this sale for exactly that reason. I got burned, twice.

On the on the other hand, I am still on the band wagon even though I got burned with the IUR price drop. Now I am buying one of each, but I can only buy one under the IOP per year.

Any indication on when the 14.5's are going to launch?

That's really the only one I'm interested in. I had no idea there was a staggered release schedule.

I'm still holding out for a factory FDE cerakoted one, too, but I guess that's a pipedream if early indications are true.

I'm really glad that CC is now selling to the civie market but it seems that they've taken their cue from the US Colt marketing department. It will work for awhile because of the novelty but sooner or later they'll run themselves into the ground just like Colt US.

Start offering no frills rifles at realistic prices please.

I still haven't bought one because the pricing is way out of wack with what they are. "Made in Canada" isn't worth the premium they're charging.

Then don't buy Leopold products the as it was their distributor that screwed you.

It caused (as far as I can see) O'Dell to become the replacement distributor in pretty short order.

Be careful in who you blame for the pricing for the Colt Canada guns as the initial pricing and subsequent drop in price was not the decision of Korth Group. Someone in Colt Canada was responsible for this...and why do you think all the Colt Canada CGN threads were locked and deleted (it wasn't because of Korth). This was way beyond the initial distributor. It wasn't Colt Canada who dropped Korth but the other way around. Phil.

Revisionist history. I'm not in on the details, but if Korth left CC as you say, I look at that as "quitting before you get fired". :stirthepot2:

You are correct, you are not "in".

Remember the old saying "Better to keep quiet and have them think you a fool, rather than open your mouth and remove all doubt".
