Umm, just how did his face end up back there lol

I've always wondered... are gophers an actual pest (as in destroying crops or what not) or are they just cheap target practice? We have a few gophers here as well, but I've never heard of them causing any problems to the locals... besides really scarying some women from time to time! :D

The only trouble-making wildlife we have here are the raccoons... they dig up the properties pretty good in search of the spring grubs and such. But shooting them within city limits is usually not common practice.

Gophers can cause tens of thousands of dollar in damage. One farmer I knew was spending a few thousand on traps and poison to protect his alfalfa fields. He said I killed more in an afternoon with my .22 than he had killed in 2 months.

They are a pest. The cause crop damage, livestock damage on occasion, and can cause equipment damage. If you are wondering how a tiny little gopher can damage equipment, the hole a gopher makes is pretty small, the hole a badger makes trying to dig up a gopher can swallow a truck tire. Or a unwary gopher-shooter's foot......

A co-worker of mine has a buddy who shatterd his anke this weekend gopher hunting...... in a gopher hole!

The little buggers are getting devious... I told my co-worker to tell his friend to get a semi-auto for denfense against gophers!!

In support of my buddy's buddy I went to the range tonight and re-sighted in my 10/22 so I can go out for "vengence" this weekend!! :D

The girlfriend got charged by an ornery gopher on Sunday. Her first shot hit the mound right below it, and it charged in her direction about 15 meters.:D Of course it was still 40 meters or so away and it was stopped by superior firepower.:D
