I was purchasing some SK (Lapua) .22 Standard Plus, at my local Canadian Tire (Walker Rd. in Windsor,Ont.)and the sporting goods manager (Graham is his name)was standing at the counter sorting stuff and,as a lark, I asked him if he had any small pistol primers?Since I will be loading .9mm soon I was in the market. He replied how many do you need?I was surprised, and pleased,to see a CT stocking reloading supplies.I bought 1000 CCI for $49.99 ...w:h::dancingbanana:

What each CT store stocks is up to the permits that store has and the decision of the managers/owner. Even if one CT has something, if my local store doesn't want to deal with it, I can't have it ordered in. Each store has quite a bit of autonomy in what they carry. Some stores get all the permits to sell primers, powder, and firearms while others just sell your basic factory ammo. There might even be some that don't carry ammo at all, I'm not sure.

There is only one CT store near me that even sells pistol ammo. The rest are just your run-of-the-mill factory rifle and shotgun hunting loads. There is a CT a couple hours drive from Ottawa (Kemptville) that stocks firearms, reloading supplies, etc. but it's too far to be a regular commute for me. There was a Canadian Tire in Sudbury when I was a kid that had an entire aisle of rifles, shotguns, and ammo. Owner died or something, whoever took it over got rid of it all and now that same store only has a single cabinet of factory ammo.

Dominion primers are made in China. The USSR hasn't existed since the early 90's.

Don't tell Putin that!Ok China then...like stuff made over here better.By the way after check-out from Canada Ammo the price for the Chinese primers were the same as the CCI $44.99 before tax due to $15 shipping...cou:

I find it amazing how much free advertising CGN members give to Cdn tire. It's too bad that they don't value our business enough to post heir gun inventory online. If I want to see what guns that they have on sale, I usually have to drive by two or three other Cdn tires to get to one with a gun shop. The reality is that I should be doing all of my gun price checking online.

I live in Ajax, Pickering, but set my local Canadian tire in Bowmanville on their. There are at least four stores closer to me than that. Too bad Graham wasn't at the head office. He seems to know how to make his customers happy.

Lou, I adjusted the price for you. You paid $44.99

anychance you could talk to the management of the Niagara Falls CT into stocking reloading supplies? lol don't get me wrong i'm already happy they stock firearms (& some decent ones at that) & pistol ammo, but reloading supplies would be AWESOME!
