CCI's new Quiet-22 ammo

What were you shooting them out of? If it was a semi you lose a BUNCH of velocity unless you lock the action closed.....and when it comes to CB's the longer the barrel the better. A 24" tube bolt action had mine travelling 690-715 FPS

You know, I think it was a 1022. The cb shorts were out of a bl22. That makes more sense. I can't explain then why the report is louder from the short then. Either way. I'm calling in to order some of these LR ones monday.

"No hearing protection required"

That just makes me laugh. A regular 22hv isnt really loud enough to require hearing protection. Downtown traffic is louder then a 22.

Please don't spread dangerous advice, Typical .22 is 120-130DB. Well above the level required to damage hearing.

No one is saying a couple rounds will kill your ears, but do it enough times and bye bye hearing.

I'd be in for a brick of this stuff for sure.

Just to add to the above,
Above 85db, hearing protection is recommended.
So, yes, not wearing hearing protection when shooting normal .22lr is just plain dumb.

Personally I prefer the Remington CeeBe rounds.....a tiny bit louder than the CCI's, but they use the same Hollow Point that the yellowjackets do.

x2 on the Remington CeeBee. I found they feed out of all box magazines as they have the same overall length as a .22LR round, and accurate out of my CZ452! Half inch 5 shot groups at 25m, which I couldn't come close to with CCI CB short or long. It even out shot RWS R25 (.22 Match shorts). The hollow point can also rip the guts out of a damn tree rat.

the longer case would make them feed better from box magazines,my CB Longs are fine in tube magazines but don't work as well in box magazines,I have to single feed them

Try the Remington CeeBee. My hunting friends and I found they feed reliably out of all box mags.

They are just "CB Long Rifles". The ballistics and noise level are the same as the CB's.....just a different name with a longer case.

As far as the subsonics? About 1/2 as loud as standard subsonic rounds.

I agree the CeeBes are a great and accurate round when they fire. Last outing at the range I fired 30 rounds with 6 duds. And I mean they were duds. I couldn't get them to shoot no matter what I tried. Each dud was repeatabily struck with a good solid dent and they still wouldn't fire. Very annoying.

Wow... not my experience. I've lit off over 200 rounds without a single misfire. Maybe a bad lot? What's the lot number on yours?

I have always found these CB's and the like to be fairly pricy relative to most other ammo. If these are indeed a new product I would guess they'd be selling at 10.00 or more dollars per 100. FS
