CDTSA 3-Gun Team - Looking for Volunteers

I honestly don’t know which is greater, the arrogance of your comment or the irrelevance...

At any rate, Jeff and Scott you sound like you’ve got things well in hand. I wish I was closer because I would help out - you sound like the kind of people I would enjoy working and shooting along side.

My post wasn't arrogant or irrelevant. Scott posted "If you don't like shooting shotguns, I'd respectfully suggest a discipline that doesn't explicitly state that a shotgun is required." under the assumption that I did not like shooting shotguns, and that I was speaking for myself alone. I poked fun at the 3 gun shooters/shotgun lovers and Scott by stating that I place higher than Scott. Through deductive reasoning you should have been able to see that because of that fact that I don't dislike shotguns and I am not challenged when it comes to using one. Relevant, and accurate on all accounts. What's arrogant and irrelevant is your post referencing your dislike for my comment.

I seriously doubt you will ever see the CDTSA move to a 2 gun format. We like shooting guns, including shotguns.

CQB is rifle pistol. Steel challenge is pistol only. Service rifle is rifle only.

If you don't like shooting shotguns, I'd respectfully suggest a discipline that doesn't explicitly state that a shotgun is required.

That's not to say that a new style of match couldn't be created that revolves around rifle and pistol (I'd be into it, more shooting!), but it would have to be separate from 3 gun. The 3 gun format (At its most basic definition- 3 guns) is here to stay for the immediate future.

Ohhhh thaaaats what you meant....riiiiiiiight. ;)
My deductive reasoning must really suck because for the life of me I cannot understand why you are not putting on 2gun matches for everyone around you to enjoy? I mean it’s not exactly rocket science and you seem to have an understanding of what the people want. Sure, actually putting on a match is a bit more work than logging onto CGN and suggesting others make changes to their matches to suit you, but why not give it a shot? Maybe you could put on a two gun match and then all of us that enjoy 3gun can come on here and tell you how it would be better if you made it into a 3gun event! Now wouldn’t that be fun!

He’s just stirring the pot now(YYC)
We all said what we wanted to so let’s move on.
The bottom line is that CDTSA’s 2019 season will still enjoy the use of shotguns.

Back to the Opening post before this thread gets shutdown.... volunteers.
Anyone ever dream of seeing a crazy stage? This is your chance to see it.

I never said that 3 gun should become 2 gun. I said that a 2 gun league would be nice. Then suggested simply adding a 2 gun division would be seamless and require near zero additional effort to implement. Unlike your last comment about asking for 2 gun to become 3 gun, a 2 gun division would still allow the 3 gun shooters to do what they enjoy and allow those who don't like shotguns, don't want a shotgun, or don't need a shotgun to give multi gun matches a go.

Wheels, steering, seats.
No motor or glass.
Something we can hook up to the kabota to move and maybe light enough we can do final position by hand

A trunk maybe
Anyone ever start a stage in a trunk? ;)

We had a stage where shooters started handcuffed to a chair and a dark pillow case over their head! It was fun...the effect of having to transition from a dark space (trunk, hood, etc.) to full sun while manipulating a handcuff key was challenging to say the least!

the CHAS guys have a car that makes for some epic stages. one stage had you start in the passenger seat and at the buzzer reach back and pickup your rifle and engage targets out the open rear hatch. i know its not the trunk start your picturing but its still awesome!

That was a good match, had a couple guys put a couple holes through the back side of the car doing that :p

At first this sounded suspiciously like my Saturday night...

BTSA cannot use rifle calibers on steel at less than 100m either, and then only at events. We're setting up a gong on the 200m range for general member use. I thought it was a cfo thing but maybe it's just our own comfort level. We can use pistol calibers at 7m at events but 10m for general use, though for 3gun, we tend to set up at 10m anyway. We also started buying more reactive targets this year as we want to run actual events beyond the skills and drills sundays. Hopefully we can get better at scheduling non-conflicting events between the 4 groups between Taber and CHAS

Still no dates?
Were you guys voted off the board in January lol??

No, but there was some BS that delayed the official calendar from rolling out.
The dates exist and we should be able to post them on here with a stipulation that they may change if something hits the wall.

Ill chat with Jeff and he'll let you guys know.

(Once it is set in stone I will do a mass email to every signed up to the mailing list. There is a board meeting tomorrow)
