Had a great time too. Didn't do great, either, but did better than last time out. Some changes in equipment, fine tuning some of the skills, and no matter what my score ends up being, I know there are a few things I just did better this time than last, and know what I need to work on to shave a few seconds here and there.

But mostly... Just plain fun. The shotgun stage was a heckuva surprise.

Well done for everyone who put in the time and effort to get this ready for us.

Hope we can get it all going again next year, maybe even breaking out to the Milo range to expand the possibilities.

Special shout out to Greg, he did massive amounts of work over every shoot, couldn't have succeeded without him.

Dammit Karl hahaha I think that needs to go on a shooting jersey for him. I'm really looking forward to next year. Have you guys kept paper copies of all the stages from this year? It may be good to build a book may make a course of fire a bit easier to decide on. As long as I get membership at cdsta next year I want to get fairly heavily involved with the 3gun club. You guys have done an excellent job. Maybe do a big grande finale shoot (similar tolethbridges) at milo. It would be great to see some of the local business's step up with some sponsorship/prizes for the league.

If there are some vendors that are interested in helping out for some shameless flaunting of there products...... I know a place! :)

Do CDTSA 3 gun matches ONLY take place on Sunday? As I co-ordinate Medicine Hats 3 gun matches we could start putting them on, on Saturdays. How do you get in touch with your Multi gun coordinator?

May I suggest, since there seems to be interest from other parties, that MAYBE, just MAYBE next year we have a Southern Alberta 3Gun Summer Finale/Opener somewhere central (cough, cough, MILO), where we hopefully pull talent from Medicine Hat, Lethbridge, and Calgary to one BIG event? 2-day?! Included in such event we have stages specialized in:

- Speed
- Handling
- Fitness

This way accumulating everybody's wants into one match.

Joka, I've over heard you saying there maybe changes with CDTSA 3g directing, but as you know there may be interest from GreenIce in Lethbridge and Garand from Medicine Hat.

If participant numbers can be estimated it would provide more leverage to get sponsorship as well. Calgary retailers need to step it up seeing what happens in Lethbridge. I'll gladly direct my monies that direction simply to make a point.

One of the reasons I earlier suggested going with a set of rules that are a) popular amongst those interested and shoot 3-gun, and b) make the most sense from a traveling and competing stand point.
There are lots of people that shoot competitions out of province and country involved in IPSC, IDPA, etc.
There is a huge benefit to the competitors to being able to go abroad and have that same activity being consistent from match to match and club to club.
It is also important in showing the rest of the non-shooting population that these are legitimate organized sports, as opposed to just grass-root local activities.
It adds weight to our defence of continued firearms use and has the potential to grow the sport - what is not to like about this?
Aside from having to do a bit of legwork with the coordination with other clubs, there is no downside.
 
Good to see some co-ordination happening with these matches. Last weekend there was three matches on the same day for an event that rarely happens in this country.

It is starting to and next year should be improved.

By all means come out and help. It'll only improve the sport.

Ive gone and competed at all three locations mentioned over the past two years and didn't have a single issue. In a lot of cases it's run what you brung because it's difficult for everybody to be equiped with all the proper gear. Nor is there enough competitors to start dividing them into groups. This division also creates a lot more work for the few voluteers already heavily weighted in work. At the end of the day these are fun events till the sport grows. I could see things changing in the future, but at the moment, 3G is grassroots in Alberta. It boils down to volunteers and involvement. Without that it'll struggle.

I don't think we need more involvement from other disciplines. They can keep their rules. I'd have to familiarize myself with actual 3G rules to see if I'd think they be benefitial to adopt.
