The weight for the R7 SHEEPDOG short action with its recoil lug and stainless pinned top rail is 2.5 lbs.

STRIKE NUKE micro-chassis system

The weight of this stock is 4.0 lbs (without any optional accessories)

It features a built-in Aluminum Micro-Chassis for as much stability as a chassis but in a more conventional rifle stock for people who do not appreciate chassis systems.

I had my quote and was ready to order the Competition chassis for my Savage when I saw the new Sheepdog. I won't be placing my order until I see the price point on the Sheepdog, 10 days and counting...

Patrice, does the cheek riser provide the same amount of height adjustment as the skeletonized stock?

I suggest that after January 17th you contact your local dealer for pricing as most dealers retail at a cheaper price point than Cadex. This way you'll save some hard earned money and you,ll encourage your local dealer. You will still benefit the same level of quality customer service from me even if I didn't make the same.

Cadex contour has been designed for long distance shooting. The barrel we use is roughly a straight taper 1.250" at the chamber to .865" at the muzzle so it's not intended to be that light. The R7 Sheepdog with Cadex barrel contour 26" fluted is about 11.6 Lbs so this first rifle configuration is not designed to be extremely light but to be very stable and offer a great long range package.

Cadex plans on releasing another barrel contour down the road more oriented towards the competitive shooters looking for something like a Medium Palma contour or similar.

I'm sorry not for the moment. We launched a lot of stuff again this year. We need swallow the first Shotshow wave prior to think about adding more stuff to our line up. Maybe in 2018 :)

That being said...

I think that over the last 3 years we've proved to everybody that we had a better and more efficient R&D department than any other gun makers. Three years ago we introduced half a dozen of new chassis models for all budgets with tons of different footprints for most actions models on the market (we now have more than 500 configs). The year after we launched a complete line up of sniper rifles. The following year the 50BMG and 408 CT addition. Then this year a Multi-Caliber sniper rifle, two custom actions, a new synthetic stock/Micro-Chassis, a lower priced precision rifle and a top of the line bipod.

Can name me a single company in the world capable to have as much growth over three year? We're Canadian and we're proud to show everybody that we have nothing to envy to any other US gun maker.
