I found another new 9mm round that I haven't picked up before. Hunter's in Surrey had some of these premium Remington Golden Sabers.
Anybody know what is meant by "High Performance Jacket", other than marketing? I have the Remington catalog, so I suppose I could just go look it up

. It's interesting that the jacket is brass rather than copper. Does anyone know what the effect of that is?
And now for the bad news.... they are CRAZY expensive! The good news is that all ammo was 20% off when my girlfriend and I were there on Saturday, so it was more like $26 for 25 rounds. Buck a bullet 9mm!! (on sale

) I just wanted to have a few, just to see what the top of the line looks like.
Here are some of the other Remington products and their prices these days. (Other two boxes are boxes of 50, obviously. The 115gr. MC is like $11.99 for 50).
In these photos you can see that the overall length of the Golden Sabres is the same as the +P hollow-points. The Golden Sabres are 147gr. though, and the hole for the hollowpoint is bigger. (left to right: Golden Saber; +P hollow; 115gr. JHP; 147gr. MC; 115gr. MC)
I'm no ammo expert, and there is probably an easy explanation for this, but what is with the red around the primer on the Golden Sabers, green on the +P's, and nothing on the standard variety ammo?
