CF and alternate optics.

This is what a talking about lol

You are given a fantasic sight -EOTECH 552 "Fantasic sight used by most of the worlds elite units" and instead you buy a Aimpoint M4 "fantasic sight too" But why not use the Eotech????????????? Its not because you wanted quality, its because you want to look different ;)

It may have had something to do with a prefference of a 2MOA dot over the EOTECH's 1 MOA, or any number of other things. This guy may have killed more bad guys than I've seen in the movies, so I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt with choice of optics.

By all means, if some new guy shows up with an NCSTAR model whatever, you should deliver your verbal pimp hand, and give the soldier guidance on the matter.
To jack up combat vets for buying quality sights that they clearly trust, is fishing for a smack in my book. Aside from the fact everyone overseas looks different and has different equipment anyway, if someone comes in with quality, and has their homework done, and passes with it. Go for it

My main issue was trust, can I look at my weapon after a few days and KNOW its on target. With the ELCAN, I can't in good faith do that.

/ rant over. For now. I could go on for days about this.

LOL. I prefer the single dot as I was a V3 (recently got lasik) and the eotech reticule didn't work for me. There were battery case issues with ones we had as well.

Yeah some of the guys were losing the very inportant rubber pieces on the in side of the cover. I think the FCS have a good supplie of them now "I see all the EOTECH 552 parts are on the MXCD now :)"

I gotta say... ill take an Aimpoint over an EO any day... (the eternal debate) the battery disconnect issues, size, battery life and weight are enough for me right there.

Why always with the acronyms? It's polite to spell out the proper title or name for uncommon words, then later on use the acronym. Just like RAYE does in post #10. Thanks, we civies appreciate it.

For sure, that's a CivPol and US PMT (US Police Mentoring Team- 4th guy in the stack) patrol with CF assistance. Most definitely a PRT (Provincial Reconstruction Team) patrol. CivPol carried the issue Elcan, but could attach anything they wanted.

They're all spelled out in your quote except the obvious ones: CivPol, US and CF ;)

Just to back track

PL WO - Platoon Warrant Officer, Usually large and disgruntled with bad knees, Disruptive pattern clad, model C1A1.

UCR - Unsatisfactory Condition Report - a form sent to DLR, and possible CTS at NDHQ, ....just kidding, Director of Land Requirements.
usually reffered to as "useless crap report"

KITE site, before my time by a bit, but I've used one twice on ex's. Big fugly gen 1 Night vision site.

LAD - Laser aiming devices, new models of this would be equivalent to a AN/PEQ 2/4.

MOA - Minute of angle equal to just over an inch at 100yds.

hope this helps.

I have an ARMS mount on a reflex, they get loose real fast..

there's one, where are the rest of you hiding?

What is BSTL? :D

Early Gen III
IIRC it was a curved lens as opposed to the flat gated Pinnacle Omni VI spec tubes used now for US Mil (and CF and Cdn LE can get 'non-export' tubes).

Generally most entities now use clip on NV in front of the day sight as opposed to a dedicated Night Optic that replace the day sight when used in low light.
