CFC approval time

A day or less in Ontario. Sent mine in on a Friday before a long weekend, had it approved Tuesday at 10am.
-AND-
It was for my first Restricted.
-AND-
I have no club membership.
 
call, like any service you spend money on it shoudl be done in a timely manner, whenever i call to check the stats of a registration, they have either done it while i was on the phone i get it a day or two later, even though ontario is superfail, i find the cfc to be quite good once i'm on the phone with them.\

oh if it's your first gun i would expect atleast 3 weeks....consider it a candian cool down period.

I guess I was one of the lucky ones in B.C., email on Sept 5 showing transfered waiting for CFC, email on Sept 12 showing shipped.

Ontario varies quite a bit. Last month it was 4 days. My latest is cruising at 1 week and holding.
The seller called and spoke to a very unpleasant women who said the hunting season is their busy time.
Whe it was suggested to her that very few hunt with a restricted weapon, she got really cranky.
 
Thats cuz they are beyond clueless when it comes to anything to do with anything. I wish is wasnt such an incredible joke id actually feel better if it wasnt a complete joke, but it is. Makes me sad that there is no purpose.

I just bought a pistol a few weeks ago and was told 8-10 weeks here in BC. AND i was told by the CFO, the gun shop, and the club i joined that i had to have a membership.
 
Purchased on the 27th Aug from Frontier

Transfer in from vendor 28th

Called BC CFO on the 10th Sept., They said it was approved last week.

Notice of transfer received from RCMP received by mail 11 Sept. with transfer date of the 7th.

Gun received today (13th) as well as the Registration certificate by mail.
 
6 weeks ago I got my Shadow, took a hair under 3 weeks. The wife got a Browning pistol and it took 2 weeks to the day.

*ATT's were done months before and completed, this really speeds the process up. If you applied for your ATT at the same time 4-6 weeks was the reported norm.
 
I just had a restricted transfer approved.

According to the transfer notification, it was submitted by the seller Sep 5. On the phone the CFC told me it was approved Sep 11, which would be 5 business days. However, the transfer notification is dated Sep 13, which would be 7 business days.

I already have a LTATT and other restricted firearms.

One other note. I had previously requested to receive an email with the transfer notification when this was approved. I was told they could do that. However, I never got that email. When I called today, however, they were able to send me a transfer notification via email.

I just had to send in my proof of " Membership " to again to confirm i had access to valid range. Not a big deal , faxed in a copy of my membership card from my club and it only delayed it a few days here in alberta.
