Technically, your rifle/load will need to be capable of consistently grouping under 3/4 MOA. Given the requirements for this challenge, I suspect the success stories will mostly be told by 1/2MOA shooters.

Definalty 100 times the fit and finish of a savage, just there stupidly accutate with a load they like. I just meant to say its very possible with them. When i first read it it sounded like bucktom cat was being told his cheap gun could t do it, but i think he was talking about lack of targets?

. Shot this a while back @ 100 m off a front pedestal and rear bag. 3 shots on both and another that was .8 or something way up on the top right .23.5 gr of varget under 55gr bt. Cold bore or not the thing outshoots everything I've ever owned. Ill print some targets and give it a shot

Completed the Cold Bore Challenge today. Posted is first day target with caliper, the finished product, and the rig. Have never shot paper with a bipod before the Challenge was originally posted so decided to give it a go to see for myself, if guys like me (group shooters) can actually hit targets:) Apparently, it is possible, even with a "too tall" (25C Harris) bipod. Rifle sports a Barnard Action with 24" Krieger Light Palma barrel, in a take-off Sako Varmint stock ... chambered to 30 BR and fitted by Ian Robertson of VX Systems.

Well done sir

My $500 savage is an ackley improved, just because a rifle isn't worth $5000 doesn't mean it won't do it. Also a lot of 0.5moa shooters on here aren't.....they are with a keyboard.......

Only one way to determine if your factory Savage is capable of this Challenge ... shoot and show pics. A review of both the sub 1/2" @ 100 and sub 1/2 MOA @ 300 Challenge threads stickied in this section, show success only by "custom" rigs ... And since that level of accuracy would be a distinct advantage for this Challenge, it is possible we may not see a lot of straight factory rifles show up in the "did it" column. I know that the "three shot" requirement opens the door considerably but, performing on five different days does make it more interesting. Buck, I see you are in Sherwood Park ... do you shoot at SPFGA?

I agree thats why I said Id try, Ive lucked out and on several occasion that little beater has produced very good groups. Since I only planned on shooting yotes with it I didnt even bother sorting brass I have 3 different types haha
Yes I shoot at SPFGA for dvelopping loads and zeroing, practice I like to do in the field
I laughed when I saw all the comments about how its too easy haha I dont think we'll see a lot of successful targets....I'll post mine even if I fail....I just wish more people were honest with themselves.

Cheers
