So I seen this over on the hide and thought it looked like an interesting challenge to try.

Basic idea is just to see if you can put the first 3 rounds on a given day where they are supposed to go.

Rules:
1. Must be first 3 shots out of your rifle on a given day
2. Target can't be shot more than once a day regardless of cool down time
3. Each target area must be dated when shot
4. To be successful all shots must land in the black dots at 100 yards/metres
5. Must use bipod (or other field expedient rest) and rear bag

I will update this post with those who are successful.

Please post your attempts even if you don't succeed, I have never tracked my cold-bore before so this should be interesting.

You can download a pdf copy of the target here:

Quick question: The black dots on that target appear to be about one inch in diameter. How would your first rounds not hit inside that at 100 yards? I'm not getting this.

Just because a rifle can hit a little black dot on a first round cold bore shot when it is aimed and fired properly doesn't mean the shooter can it on command. Plus some rifles are not capable of this level of consistent accuracy, bad bedding, inconsistent/heavy trigger pull weight, unstable shooting rest…the list can go on for ever. This tested is meant to show how consistent your rifle will shoot on a day to day basis from a cold bore, the true test of a rifle and shooter's ability.

Have had the pleasure of seeing and shooting cold bore shots with that 6.5 of yours to 1000, what a little beaut! Mine is not there yet, but I'm on the right track to get there soon.

Yes. You are.
That pussified 'fat bastard' ~ no recoil~ muzzle brake equipped dirty-eight 'o yourn .. it is closing in on formerly unassailable 6.5 mouser hallowed ground.
However, ... as long as My rounds continue to cost only 1/3 of what yers do .... y'll likely to be suk'n on the hind teat for the forseeable future ... :p
