CGN guns for hunting

Do Canadians use the 45-70? Just curious. I would think that with the large game, and Bears up there--combined with your heavily wooded terrain--that it would be one of the most popular cartridges. Marlin 1895 anyone?

Yep a few of us do :) I have used a 1895GG for the past few years and have never been in need of more. So far this year it has taken a young mulie meat buck and a 'yote still looking for a whitetail.

Yes. we have put a bit of meat in the freezer with GunNutz firearms .........

My daughter has taken 4 mule deer with a left-handed Savage in 308 I bought from Rembo.

I took a hog of a mulie -290 pounds (scaled whole) - with a BLR in 308 that came wrapped in socks from Doug. ;)

Last fall I took a mulie doe with a Ruger #1 in 30-06 aquired from The Big Mike.

2 weeks ago I took a mulie buck at a lasered 340 yards with a 270 Winchester chambered M1885 that I bought from A-Zone.

This season I have taken 14 or 15 grouse with a Citori 12 guage that came from 240 Gord

My greatest contributation to the sausage supply however is with the A-Bolt II in 300 wsm that I bough off of martinbns. 3 mule deer, one whitetail, a black bear and 2 cougar with that rifle. :);)

Yup, Winchester M70 in .270 to take my first ever mule deer last month bought last year from the EE.
In fact all of the guns I own except one have come from the EE.

Cow Elk taken Nov. 1 with a Sako 75 SS in 300 Weatherby, purchased from CGN April of this year.

Gunnut guns

I have been fortunate to buy guns from several Gunnutz, some have stayed, some not.
One that will never leave is my Kimber 6.5-06 that was owned by 3 nunnuters before coming to permanent rest in my safe
I hunt with it all the time and have taken 9 odd deer, 2 antelope and 12 coyotes with it.

Some of the animals taken

Flopped a WT doe last season with a Savage 300 WSM aquired here. Rifle was later sold here to finance another. My brother borrowed a 22 Hornet aquired here to drop a coyote, wich i am sure will be the first of many for that one, i cant see it leaving too soon, its a sweetheart.

People buy guns somewhere else??????

My two "meat guns" pre-date Gun Nutz by at least a couple decades. ;)

But my 11-87 which has killed a pile of geese came from a CGNer, and I have hunted with probably several dozen other guns that came from folks on this board. And I reckon that people other than 'boo have used guns that have passed through these old hands of mine. :p

Doug, FYI, that old Browning High Power even got back to the old guy in time for his moose hunt. Never heard back if they scored but I bet it was a special moment to see him get that rifle back.:)

The true CGN experience is getting a gun from Doug. An initiation if you will...:D

And I have about six or eight socks here that need to go to new homes - just blew the heel out of one today and washed itso it can protect a muzzle for somebody's new toy! :dancingbanana:

A very select few guys have also received other items of clothing with their guns..............
