the goal is getting more shooters on the line! and having fun! with some of the stuff I have seen on here some shooters really need to compete !

Sign me up for down here at Cedar Springs (SW Ontario area), We only have 300m but I do shoot out to 1000 yards. I am a TR shooter (iron sight, jacket and sling) but I promise not to poke fun at you, if you use a scope and shoot off a bipod.

My partner and I were asked to do a small intro spiel at the ORA Precision Clinic this year, so I will be there. We both shoot FFP optics, so if you have questions about it, or would like to see what the reticle looks like at different magnifications, it will be a good opportunity to do so.

New Brunswick - I am available to introduce or mentor shooters.

The RNBRA Fullbore Section has events from 5-May until mid-September. We have a blog page http://rnbrafullbore.########.ca/ you can bookmark and check regularly (especially the night before or the morning of an event, in case there is a change or cancellation). You can always find a link to our RNBRA Fullbore Schedule in the upper right corner of the blog.

Almost all of our events are suitable for introducing new shooters to long range shooting - we shoot at 300m, 500m, 600m, 800m and 900m.

Our first event is next Saturday, 5-May -- it is more of a "training" event than a competition. We'll be doing coached training/practice at 300m on a new electronic target system (and some optional 600m shooting at the end of the day for anybody still interested).

Anybody near Hamilton Ontario willing to take an ex-cadet under their "wing"? I'm currently thinking Lee Enfield or M14 with scopes.

ygong - contact the ORA (Ontario Rifle Association), and make arrangements to attend the first available "Intro Day" that they are running. That will help you find a local mentor, and will also help guide you in selection and building of a rifle.

In case you haven't already found it, there is a facetube group that has been set up to contact former cadets and bring them back into shooting, I know they've run at least one "reunion" on the range so far. Contact me offline if you need contact info for this.

Is anyone in Sk. participating in this (preferably S' toon area)? I'm a struggling young precision artist:p and could use a few shoots with someone who can give some effective pointers. I have my own 1k range - very private and well set up. Free membership to a charitable mentor! Ok, no membership exists at all but it kinda sounded good, huh?

I never seem to be around or unengaged when Nokomis has their 'open houses'.

Thanks,
Rooster

Wish I had access to a range like that! I also know exactly what you mean in regards to Nokomis. My work schedule always falls on those weekends.
