Well both me and the wife agree it's not fit to eat,... just as well you use it for firestarter. Doesn't expire til June 30th and has been kept in the fridge since opening, if you guys would like it, PM me and we'll work something out...

Hope you have a successful Gopher hunt...

Thanks for bringing the firewood issue up tripalm.

I'll do my best to pack some firewood in the truck. I don't think I have much (if any) left but I'm sure I have some lumber I can cut up. Firestarters are a great idea. I wouldn't mind not having front row seats at a napalm strike this year.

I too am asking that others pack some firewood, even if it's just a few pieces. Last year we were all sorry we hadn't brought more. There was some serious craziness as a result.

Yup. I got this off the provincial Governments website:

That's why there are legal restrictions on the transport and use of some types of wood. For example, because of the risk of spreading mountain pine beetle, pine wood may not be transported into Saskatchewan or out of the Cypress Hills. Dutch elm disease regulations make it illegal to use, store, transport or buy elm wood for any purpose.

Probably best to pick up the wood from local Sask business. It'll be good to help out the locals, too. :)

Scrap lumber shouldn't be a problem, raw wood is a no no in almost all Western Provinces, but as Pharaoh has suggested, probably be safer just to buy locally. That being said, other than those packages of dry rotted wood at supermarkets, any suggestions on where they would sell firewood??

It loooks like the weather is going to hold this Weekend so I can get the tent aired out and the fly re waterproofed. It's about time I get the guns cleaned and oiled, (I only do that every month cause I'm bored ) and do an ammo count. I think were good as far as that goes, but you can never have too much. Maybe I'll pick up another 100 round box for my shotgun. My favorite thing from last year was walking that feild next to camp with the shotguns. Oh yeah, mosquito stuff, be sure everyone to bring mosquito stuff. Face masks, long sleeves, long pants and even gloves if you need them. There were certain areas where the skeeters are willing to pick you up and take you to their queen. The last thing you want is to spend the weekend in the tax office.
