Are you sure that #5 is a 45-70? It looks like a 38-56 to me. From the photo, at least, #5 appears to have a smaller diameter than #6 (40-65).
My guess is that someone used 45-70 cases to form cases for a 38-56, which is the standard procedure for obtaining 38-56 brass. If you mic the diameter of the bullet and it turns out to be somewhere around .376 to .378, then it is most likely a 38-56 round made from a 45-70 case.The case says 45/70, but I agree, it isn't straight like normal 45/70, it has a taper to it. so it could possibly be a reload. I have a half dozen of em and they're all the same
