Hi all,
I am a new shooter with the above firearm. I've recently gotten into IDPA and IPSC. in IPSC, production division I have to run in DA, and it is super heavy. I'd like to lighten it up. I'd also like to calm the recoil down a little too.
I've read that changing the recoil and main spring would help with both of these and I'm hoping for some pointers on selecting the most appropriate for the gun and ammo.
I usually shoot with 124grain blazers and occasionally 115grain whatever-might-be-on-sale.
What poundage springs would I need to choose for either of these bullets? If it means sticking with a certain grain weight then I would stick with 124.
Are any brands better/ worse than others?
Are there any gotchas I should keep in mind when changing them?
Is changing the springs actually what I need to do? Or should I do something else?
Is it something someone handy with tools can do? Or should it be left to a pro?
Anything else I should be aware of?
Thanks in advance!
