Hey everyone. Just inherited my father-in-laws 1974 Rem 700 ADL (blind mag) in 7mm magnum. I really dont like blind mags at all for hunting or just in general.
What would I look for to change the stock to a drop plate configuration. Just a BDL stock for a long action? Or were there magnum length stocks?
My other question is that I want to change the trigger to a triggertech. Because I hear there were multiple generations of triggers used, will the basic triggertech 700 trigger fit a 1974 with the grooved trigger face?
Thanks everyone. I really liked my father-in-law and want to make this one of my dedicated moose rifles. Not a lover of 7mm per se, but I want to remember him. This gun has downed 25 moose and about 15 caribou. It got mojo!! So I need to make this gun more friendly to me. I will still keep the original parts, but dont want to ruin the wood stock. I hunt a hard hunt every year. In muddy rainy ravines, rivers, snow, mountainous areas, and I dont want to be worried about gouging the original stock up. I fall in at least 1 river every year plus trip ALL THE DAMN TIME. My boots are huge.
