...after some time on the big marsh things quieted down so i moved to an adjacent canal where i could stand on some solid ground for a few hours ...after setting up my decs i put the boat into a beaver run, camoed the boat, and found a place where i could sit with my dog ...the decs were between me and my boat ...a few ducks came down the channel and we were successful with two ...then some cracking trees on the other side of the channel and a truly big cow moose came out of the grass and into the channel 30 yards straight across and went to make for us like she was in a hurry, although she didn't know we were there, which was startling enough ...but the real show stopper was the breaking of brush/trees behind her and the glint of an antler 50 yards farther inland! ...we didn't wait around for her boyfriend to show up but packed up quickly and crashed back through the brush to our boat ...better to be on the water in a boat than on land and face her boyfriend who was soon to arrive! ...which he did
...never had that one happen to us before!
(yes i had my camera but i was too busy high-tailing it before i got into an unwelcome menage et trios with only #4 2 3/4 steel!!!)
