Over unders are the crack cocain of the shotgun world. You could buy OU from $30 to $30,000 + and when you take your first game or smash your first clay, you will be hooked.

I told myself, just one grouse. No sir. Just like potato chips, not a chance you can only have one and be happy.

Pumps are pretty hard to beat for just one shotgun.

And 870s are awfully tough to beat in the pump game.

I just purchased my 2nd 870 pump shot gun - the first one was the express model back in 2009 foolishly sold it in 2018 bought a Browning BPS Field very nice well made gun but it didn't feel right. Sold the BPS recently (purchaser got a great deal) and bought another 870 pump this one is branded Sportsman model - it was produced the 2nd quarter of 2017. I ordered online from Tilsonburg Gun Shop and it arrived three days later. The gun looks, feel and handles perfectly. I just checked the inside of the barrel where most will polish and its very smooth no rough spots. Perhaps these one's got abit more attention. Planning on shooting trap this weekend should handle the trap loads with no hang-ups.

To everyone thinking about a pump - take a good look at Remington - it's no wonder they produced over 11 million of them.

Have an 870 and love it, especially with how easy it is to reconfigure with different barrels and accessories and use for different things.

But starting to drool in the general direction of a semi; those seem to usually oblige you to stick with one barrel. Is there any chance of a single semi working for trap and skeet and IPSC standard and 3-gun and maybe even hunting? Recommendations? Some days I think different shooting disciplines were invented by people looking for an excuse to buy a different gun, but I'd rather minimize the number of guns and be able to afford a bit more quality and more time getting to know how each one handles.

You're not wrong. I only have two at this point...both Browning Superposeds, one in 12 and another in 20. I should be good for a while, just have to avoid crossing paths with a 16!

Have been happy with HandR Partner pump. Cheap and cheerful. Likes Remington rather than Challenger. I have the 20 synthetic and would purchase again!
Bought at SFRC when on sale in the spring. Gun, tax and shipping just under $300.

how cheap?

old Mossburg bolt action with built in adjustable choke are between $125 and $175

great truck/ATV gun

any bolt action for that matter quite fond of my Steven's 58 12ga I also have a Mossberg 183 .410. always been drawn to the bolt action shotgun idk why but they fit the bill and are very utilitarian. too be noted though any of the old c lect choke or adjustable chokes are not steel shot friendly unlike one person in the EE thinks.
