I have been on the fence to buy a M14 or a CZ 858. I was just wondering what is the cheapest place around to get a M 14 (black) . I am looking for one now, not a long overdue pre order..LOL..

All of the places that used to advertise them for really good prices don't have them in stock anymore. I can't seem to find one for under $500 new

On the EE Forum! Great buys to be had there!

Lots of them listed, many of them with neat accessories at super prices! Just gotta find your price point and bling that happens to accompany the rifle! ;)

Cheers,

Barney

Home hardware in Yorkton SK has 4 left in black and 4 in camo I believe. They are 499 off the shelf, I have no idea if they ship

Definite +1

Got a 2009 one for $450 shipping included. Came with two magazines and a hard case. Like the Marstar deal but no tax involved. Sometimes you don't have to clean the cosmo off or sight it in, also :p

Well just as we speak, I just made a deal on EE. I don't want to tell you guys what kind of deal I just got, but lets say.....its the best deal on a gun that I have ever made... ...I can't stop smiling... I may now sell my hunting rig because this gun came with a scope already mounted by a arms mount.

Got one with a scope mount, scope, hard case, and two mags for $400 shipped. Took it out and shot off hand from 100 yards and hit the 4" target all five times. How the heck do you beat that? Taking her moose hunting in two weeks.

Ya, I just got practically new one with only 20 rounds through it. Arms mount, and bushnell tactical 10x scope shipped for around the price of a new one by itself.

Wolverine Supplies had an end of summer special back in August - $459.95. Might want to drop them a line to see if they have any left. They were recently doing inventory.

Mentioned earlier about marstars M305 b still on pre order. When does this pre order end and you can actually buy the rifle. I heard christmas but it seemed like sarcasm. I don't want a used one (even 10 shots through so no EE) i want to buy my first rifle new.

NEW???
Why would any one buy a NEW M14 when the used ones on our own CGN EE come already cleaned, sighted in, with NO TAXES, and usually with extras??

My last M 14 cost me exactly 4 crisp new $ 100 bills,
and it came with a GI fiberglass stock,
with a QR sling swivel properly mounted at the fore end [ for a Harris style bipod ],
a rubber add on recoil pad,
[2] 5/20 mags,
as new in the original box [ fired 40 rds ],
with all original accessories.

First time at the range, it shot 4 out of 5 into 3/4" with iron sights, and me getting used to the trigger ...
and this is BEFORE I do my usual tweaks and tricks on it.

NEW???
I don't think so.

PS: the reason this 14 was sold was because it wasn't as accurate as he thought it should be ....
BUT,
he only tried it with surplus SA 7.62 NATO BALL AMMO.

REMEMBER THIS BEFORE YOU GIVE UP ON YOUR M14 AS "INACCURATE",

The M14 family of rifles is INCREDIBLY sensitive to variations in ammo.
I've seen the same M 14, on the same day, shoot 5" with one brand/load of ammo, and sub-moa with another brand / load. So try a few different types of ammo in your 14 before you give up on it.

They're preorder until they get here and they'll get here when they get here. Canadian Firearms Importing 101: Prepare to wait for months. So if you want to take advantage of Marstar's offer, go for it. There's no down payment. It's currently one of the best offer from a retailer.

Heed Lazerus2000's advice. A slightly used Norinco is better than a new one. At least you know it works and shoots straight. Just ask how many rounds, what brand, grain and what groups the seller was getting. If you're really penile about it, ask for proof. Besides, the finish of a M14S/M305 is nothing to brag about and you're not going to gain anything in that department with it new. In terms of taxes, ON HST is 13% and that'll be part of shipping, too. $429 + $25 (give or take) + 13% = $513.02 TOTAL.

Scout EE everyday and you'll find good deals. Save that extra $50 for ammo.

New just because I wanted my first rifle to be new. kinda like starting fresh on a clean slate. I will buy used on other weapons but first rifle new is kind of a personal issue I want to be the first and only owner is all even if it means slightly higher price and more work. Then it is my rifle to improve and work with. I was wondering about Marstar's because they said june 2010 at the bottom and that is long since passed.

I know what you mean, when you say that you want to buy new. Its kind of like buying a used car, in a way. You don't want no surprises.

However, in alot of cases lazerus is right.

I just bought a new one, with 20 rounds through it, to sight in the scope that was mounted by a A.R.M.S. mount. Pretty much worked out that I got the Mount and 10x Bushnell Tactical scope for free. In cases like that, you should buy used.......heheheeh.

Thats the idea of clean new and no previous owners. That being said classed canceled this morning and looked in EE all 2 hours. I am now considering buying a used one. Weird how less money and free makes it seem like a better deal. I will post when i finally get a M14 in MBR form.

Ah, I see. Yea, the first rifle you own by your own hands has a lot of sentimental value. Are you sure you want to start with the M14? Don't get me wrong, it is a fantastic rifle, but why not something like a .22LR? I take it you're a student (like me) and as such, you'll have a budget. .308 isn't that cheap and to get familiar with a rifle you have to shoot it...lots. Not to mention adding personal preferences and modding for accuracy. Then there's also extra magazines or stripper clips and eventual reloading (yes you will if you get really into shooting). Chances are, your first rifle will stay with you for a long time and when you have a family, pass it down to your kids. A .22LR would be a better idea for heirloom and most likely going to be shot more for various reasons. Plus they're cheap and effective. It may not be exciting, but in the long run, function over form. Unless you already have a .22 then nvm. Just saying, they can be an investment.
