That's the big one for me, too - not having to try to track down the right factory load when everyone's sold out.

Case in point

Just bought 200 .30cal tracers for $67
Couple that with $15 or less of my WC735
About $2.50 worth of some WLR primers I bought a year ago
Some free range .308 brass

100 loaded .308 tracer rounds for about $50

Not a spectacular price but not something you can buy at Cabelas or Walmart...

....wait a sec...

Actually $10 a box for .308 is a pretty damn good price.... Heh...

Reloading Does Not Save You Money!

If you are not regularly investing money in new equipment, powders and components to try, rifles to reload for, or just anything reloading related then :

Both - Henry at Budget Shooter Supply and Parsons at Custom Reloading ARE GREAT!!!
I dealt with both several times each, in person - face to face, and will do it again, happily!!!

I mean - the service and prices and treatment have been above and beyond every time!!
 
If you are not spending twice as much money to shoot 4 or 5 times as much, you are doing it wrong. I just cast 500 .358 bullets... reloading those 10 boxes will cost me maybe 30 or 40 bucks at tops.

just another fun day at the range.

If you have lead (tons of), time, and backyard to cast your own bullets - koodos to you !!!
I'd (most likely) prolly cast my own bullets if I had the backyard...

I also load and shoot a lot of berry's plated bullets.. . the .40 through my IPSC club and my .458 through henry.

The king of cast bullets on here though is Ben. When he gets back from shooting and not being in winter... He makes the best. I don't want to advertise him though because then he might not have time for me and mine. If he's going to retire, he can't until he makes me about 1000 480gr wfngc.
 
Reloading is a hobby. Men have hobbies so they don't have to leave their kids a bunch of money when they die. I really love reloading, probably as much as shooting. If I also save a few bucks doing it, well that's getting blown on gun stuff too.
 
Whereabouts are you in BC, the lower mainland or up north in the boonies. Reloaders in the LM are laughing with Henry at Budget Shooter Supply (Surrey) and Brad at Custom Reloading (Maple Ridge) (both CGN dealers). Excellent service and price.

I reload both 45ACP and 9mm supplied by them at greater than 50% savings.

Don't know if your math is correct since you didn't show your numbers (didn't your primary school teacher taught you to always show your work, just the answer is worthless)

Another vote for John at Custom Reloading, Total class act!

Couldn't find it, somewhere on the dillon site is a calculator for how many boxes to pay off your machine in savings.

9mm with my brass and berry's 124's is $6.50/box, American Eagle is $14, I'd say reloading is worth it! Be even more savings for 40 and 45

Per Berry's bullet 1000 cost is $165 and $118 for 45ACP and 9mm respectively.
Per Factory AE 1000 cost is $395 and $269 for 45ACP and 9mm respectively.
That's 41.8% and 43.9% for 45ACP and 9mm respectively.

Figure ~3K and ~5k to recover cost.

Mind you reloading isn't for everyone. Actually I'd say it isn't for most people. There's no room for error. Most folks nowadays just don't have the patience to do it right. Ain't hard, just got to be dedicated cause you're playing with explosives. Darn fun when it works watching those pretty little boolits pop out.

The last berry's I got from Jo-Brook last spring were 77$/1000 124gr 9mm and 125$/1000 230gr .45
Quite a bit cheaper than your quote.
I think both custom reloading and Budget shooting supplies have similar deals.

Edit--- I see now that you might have meant total cost loaded... Which would make more sense LOL
