I like cerakote, I don't have the gear to do it properly at home, and the few muzzle brakes I have to do I kind of wanted a home made solution.Cerakote works well
Interested to see how this goes? The Caswell stuff was pricey to ship?I like cerakote, I don't have the gear to do it properly at home, and the few muzzle brakes I have to do I kind of wanted a home made solution.
I read up on how the US did M1 Garand stainless gas cylinders and it's pretty wild, it was 70-80 years ago, but yeah, it was some toxic chemical process.
I did get the Caswell stuff, haven't tried it yet, will report back.
300 series stainless it says a good soak in muriatic acid is the best prep, it's easy to get at least.
Like $20 through Purolator, wasn't offensive lolInterested to see how this goes? The Caswell stuff was pricey to ship?

Caswell Canada, can't link as not a sponsor.Which chemical exactly? And where did you get it?
Pretty sure the muriatic acid will etch the metal and give it a frosted finish. I need something that will leave a shiny finish.
