Chest Rigs and Mags for your Black Rifle

Has anyone used any other brands like Condor etc mag pouches? They are just so much cheaper then the Taco's

A Chinese knock off company named after a scavenger. Buy HSGI and keep your money in NA.

and looks like only one place in Canada sells the double rifle Taco's

We usually have stock, currently waiting on a large order.

As well check DS Tactical since you're on the west coast and/or Sheepdog Tactical in Ottawa.

I can think of only two other dealers that are as much of a straight shooter as you are. I really hope work picks up so I can spend some real money with you.

I want to get a setup that works well for 3 gun matches etc.

What kind of 3 gun? If you're doing "tactical" 3 gun then a MOLLE belt and chest rig work well. There are multiple options on both of these so it'll depend on if you want real estate, light weight, AR or VZ or both etc.

If you're doing IDPA or IPSC 3 gun, then it's a whole different story.

I can walk you through multiple options out there if it's the "tactical" 3 gun.

Ya I'm thinking tactical and idpa and law enforcement games. I'm running a an ar 15 platform.

You are doing CQB/Service Rifle. So get a battle belt as well as a chest rig system.

IDPA will be a different set up altogether.

What's wrong with condor? Just curious as that's what I've purchased..... I own a couple of their rifle cases and am happy with the quality......

Educate me please.

As ATR said you'll need different gear for IDPA/IPSC.

For tactical 3 gun and good MOLLE belt will be a bonus. There are a number of different option out there and it's hard to go wrong on these although they have different features.

HSGI has a rubberish inside which prevents it from moving around.

Blue Force Gear comes with suspenders and will fit armor.

High Ground has removable rear section for quick switch out and integrates with their packs.

ATS is quite low profile

VTAC offers openings bewteen MOLLE sections

Blackhawk is a basic MOLLE belt

Almost all of the above will allow for attaching suspenders and most should come with an inner belt.

For chest rigs there are a huge amount of options as well. I'd stay away from a plate carrier unless you need real estate or want to wear plates. I also hate MOLLE vests with a passion, but it is an option if you're leaning that way.

For just getting started though I'd suggest the Blue Force Gear Ten Speed M4 rig. It allows you to carry 4 AR mags and add a couple pouches to the outsides if needed. Usually a utility pouch and IFAK. Pistol mags and more AR mags can go on your belt if needed along with other smaller "boo boo" or utility pouches.

Condor is made in China and steals North American company designs. They use cheaper buckles, webbing, padding, foam, and other materials.

Quality may look good, but when compared to other brands like Blue Force Gear, High Speed Gear, High Ground, Arcteryx etc, you really see where corners are cut.

For most people this may not make a huge difference however for some it does. One example is foam padding, in quality gear you'll get closed cell foam that won't soak up water, compared to open cell foam. This makes a difference to some people when that padding is between them and a backpack, or belt.

Buckles aren't ITW so they don't stand up to the cold as well. Quality webbing also makes a difference when if comes to fraying. If cut, webbing used on cheap gear will unravel by looking at it, quality webbing comes apart much slower.

With quality products your getting the best they can offer. Will knock off products your getting look alike products to cut costs.

Again it comes down to preference, budget, needs and if you want to support NA manufacturers.

Gotcha...... Guess, I'll see how my gear fairs......

I'm a believer in buy once and don't cry.... Period... A little frustrating to hear I may be disappointed in my purchase. I get my gear in a couple days.

Guess we'll see thanks for the info.....

Just buy Tacos and add Raven Moduloaders, with a dump pouch and your GTG.
Thanks One Shot Tactical

One more thing about North American producers...RMA is easier to obtain.

Just got my package...... I have to admit I'm having a case of buyers remorse.

Although I'm sure the gear will be adequate for what I'll put it through it does have a cheap feel to it.... Am disappointed.

Live and learn.....
