Chiappa Alaskan

Well there she is.. Added to the collection.
First impressions are it's ok. Not sure what I was expecting, maybe bit more flash for an over $2k gun, but overall it's a nice little rifle. Basic box, instructions with a small nylon brush. And that is all. No trigger lock, not even the cheap platic throw away one. No advertising stickers that I usually don't care for either.

Half the screws that secure the stock were 1/4 out, all had to be tightened. The matt finish shows every finger print and every touch and nick. The takedown action is decent, 2 part process. The plastic furniture is just meh. Feel like for 2k+ these should be coming with carbon fiber stocks.
It's about as heavy as the Marlins.
Nothing down the pipe yet.

Definitely no Henry or a new Marlin.

I do really like the sights on it. Ghost ring in the rear and red fiber in the front. Nice crisp and clear sight picture. I prefer these 100 times over the overpriced skinner ones, and I have both. Much easier to see with these.

Seems pretty basic overall. Not sure what parts apparently break down or need fixing, per all the Chiappa haters. Mind you that opinion might change down the road if/once something breaks down haha. Can't comment on accuracy yet. Wish the sights were further apart for more accuracy.

Shout out to eagle firearms, quick and smooth transaction, and the free loot is a bonus!

I have a stainless takedown Chiappa 16" Alaskan in .44 mag & it's tons of fun!

I put a Romeo5 red dot & a flash light on it & folks love shooting clays on the berm with it! Fingers crossed as it hasn't failed me yet!
