Chiappa big badger 30-30

Sadly North Sylva has not seen the Big Badgers come in yet. We do have multiple backorders of every caliber they offer as of now. There is no ETA on when they will arrive in Canada but I will make a post the moment they come into the store!

Happy shooting,
Josh

I'm assuming that also means you guys don't know prices yet?

Judging by the lack of content on youtube, I have a hard time believing the guns have left the factory or are even in production?

..^. It's pretty pathetic, we now have to gage our 'Hobby/Sport/Collection" on other p.o.s Countries with BS gun control. Ooewwww...Australia got it... & we don't" lmao

I was asking for an update from the dealer on an incoming product that I’m interested in purchasing. Gonna cry?

...and.., ?
is it what we're looking for?
Yes. There was a YouTube video that released in September where the creator had several light strikes which made me a little skeptical. But I pulled the trigger and bought one from p&d enterprises for $455 anyway and I am pleased with it so far. It’s nice and light, a little front heavy but not a problem with a rest. Wire stock works better on something like a .22 vs a 30-30 -it slips out of your hands occasionally and you lose sight picture - Which is my only complaint. I bought a cheapo 1.2-6x LVPO from UUQ optics off Amazon, and it makes a nice light package for traversing heavy brush and I’ve been getting very tight groups with it with a bipod.
A new, lightweight single shot with scope and bipod for a few hundred cheaper than the most worn out 30-30 lever gun you can find on ####### is a pretty good deal to me.

I’d like to see Chiappa offer interchangeable barrels so I can swap out the 30-30 barrel for their .410 barrel.

Yes mine hasn't had any light strikes so far, I've tested it with paper on dummy rounds and casings have good strikes on it, looking forward to it being my bush gun, I'll be taking her out this November for mule deer.

Chiappa is a strange company that has had a mixed history of quality control and other issues across its range of guns. The little badgers are nice but the grip accessory they designed for it makes no sense and people have 3 D printed better grip options.

The other strange thing with Chiappa is how long it takes for some guns to go from announcement to distribution which was the case for the big badger that was announced years ago and is finally making it into peoples hands in Canada.

This guy in the recently posted Youtube video above points out the obvious miss with no plastic clam shell grip over the wire stock.... as soon as I saw the first picture years ago I thought to myself, Chiappa must have stocks in the 3d printing industry as they are just screaming for people to make their own instead of them having to do it....? I sort of figured over the years of waiting for them to actually make it to market that they would fabricate their own grip panels and either charge another $5 for the gun and include them or sell them as (unavailable in Canada) an accessory for $50!

No only would a clam shell grip over the wire be more comfortable, it might help mitigate the flex of the wire stock that buddy in the video points out. The connection of the wire stock into the receiver looks a bit lacking in strength and penetration.

The fact there are hardly any youtube videos out suggests not many are in the wild but surely someone has printed up some grips by now.....

My only other thoughts are the barrel could be a bit shorter and it would have been cool for Chiappa to notch the barrel and make a suitable hight front sight that could be clamped on to the end of the barrel using the barrel thread protector and a rear peep mounted on the rail to allow "iron sights". A hammer spur would make sense as well right out of the box.
