Paint Job

This is the paint job I have done to my rifle:

I used Rustoleum paint. The final finish is only the self etching primer, because I had compatibility issues with the camouflage paint. The primers color is great, it's a green/grey with no light reflections.

Before painting the rifle I removed the finish because it was peeling and very ruff. The original paint that is used is powder coat and is very hard to remove, so I had to use aircraft paint stripper (I tried regular stuff and it doesn't cut it).

Here are the stripped parts:

The receiver on this rifle is die cast zinc, so once stripped if you don't want to paint it would be very easy to polish to get a chrome like effect. I have done this before on Cooey shotgun trigger guards, looks good but oxidise after a while to a more grey color (like copper looses it shine).
All the blued parts were wiped down with a 50/50 Varsol/Boiled Lin Seed Oil and let to dry to help prevent rust (oil must be used over BLO because it is not a waterproof finish).
So tell me what you guys think!

while i havnt altered the gun too much i do have it where i like it now with the exception of the pistol grip.
i would still like to flesh out a pistol grip for it.

i took off some of the quad rails, put a single point harness on it and in the bag i have both a red dot and a old 4x9 Bushnell i had laying around both on QR mounts so i can swap them out or use the irons.
also put a for grip on it - i had picked it up hoping it would fit on the pistol grip but didnt then found i like it on the front to give me something to hang onto.
put a flash hider that i had laying around on it as well.
oh, also put a hammer spur on it that i got from Chiappa.
i did pick up their cleaning kit and pistol grip that they make for it but i dont like it.

I got a bit overzealous with my little badger....

However keep in mind this was a joke, it actually looks like:

I absolutely love this rifle, it is accurate, fun to shoot, and very quiet with CB longs.

one day I will put the collapsable stock and bipod back on it, and for a joke bring it out to the 100m range pretending to be a serious shooter.
but that defeats the purpose of this wonderfully compact lightweight rifle.

I like the look of the OD,
Maybe I will paint mine as well.

That said, I have always wanted to paint a rifle blaze orange.

Light Strike Fix

Me and my buddy each own one of these little rifles and both right from the factory had light strike issues. Most of the time it take's two strike for the shot to go. Here is the fix.
-First I polished up the internals to a nice shine:

The hammer spring guide rod end.

And where the hammer spring guide rod come into contact with the hammer.

I found these parts to be poorly finished, but wasn't a problem to fix.

-Second, you could shim the main spring. I used a small lock washer.
