China's not so new assult rifle - QBZ95

M1A knock offs they already have...

Humvees, too big, too tall, too much gas consumption. Even the US are looking at alternatives.

Why not 'borrow' ideas from the best the world has to offer? R&D is expensive, time consuming, and not always productive.

They did research their own service cartridge. Maybe they got it right as the US seems to be heading in a similar direction.

US style PASGT helmet. PVS 14 type night vision mount. Woodland BDU & assault vest. What's next? Humvee & M1A knock offs? Can't the Chicoms at least be a bit more original & come up with their own invention instead of keep copying others?

Here is the Humvee knock off (note the logo):

There is only one issue with buying one of this beauties...the fact that all bullpups are prohibited here...

O-M-G. I cant' believe you said that.

You're going to get a punch in the face from one of the members around here.

Please do a search on "bullups", and you will find that NOT ALL bullups are prohib, only aftermarket bullup stocks are.

Well...there's two issues now. You called this abortion a "beauty".

I hope you were being sarcastic! :)

Like I said earlier, call me crazy but I love the rifle. I'd get one in the blink of an eye.

Taste and Beauty are relative. One man's garbage is another man's treasure.

X2.......

since Lever Arms is able to get the CF98(the civilian version of Type 92 pistol), they'll likely to get us the Type 97, which is the 5.56 NATO version of Type 95(and also takes STANAG mags, yay!!).........

Norinco offered Lever Arms the Type 97/95 but Lever Arms is too chicken s**t to even send RCMP a sample. I was told by the owner of Lever Arms when I was visiting Vancouver. He admited he doesn't want to be the first one to deal with the bullpup thing. Apparently he doesn't read CGN enough LOL.

What?? He needs to be re-educated!!

Or perhaps we can give him several shots of vodka to remove the "chickeness" of his mind........ then we can make him phone Norinco to send him some samples :D ........

I like it. As has been posted on the other Typ 97 threads, the real deal will be with the so called flat top "sniper" version. Longer non restricted barrel, able to mount a scope without the carryhandle BS.
Also the imported price right now is too high :( for this rifle.
If the price comes down to a reasonable price point and the non restricted sniper version comes in, I'll be buying one. A lot of ifs there but oh well.

There is no sniper "version" of this rifle, there is another Chinese bullpup sniper rifle that has nothing to do with this rifle.

I can't get over how high up the line of sight is. Some of the small faced dudes are barely scratching their chins on the stock.
