are you hiring? :D :D

Funny you should ask. We will be needing a few new people in Vancouver and in Cornwall. But that will be later in the year. I will likely post here once I know exactly what positions we need.

Yup. The yellow Norinco is a varient of the M43 type. It has a hard steel point in it. It is adept at setting small brush fires at ranges ( better than Czech does). It really sparks up when hitting rocks or metal plates.
so you are saying it is Corrosive ? It was made in 93

M43 Bloc ammunition was standardized with a mild steel core. In the US, the commercial sale of armour piercing handgun ammunition was banned. Someone introduced a 7.62x39 pistol, so there was a flurry of activity to sell off all the steel cored M43 ball ammunition, and at the time, the yellow box Chinese was available in large quantities. It was incredibly inexpensive. To meet the needs of the US market, lead cored 7.62x39 ammunition was developed. There have been reports that not all Chinese ammunition labelled non-corosive actually is N/C. But that particular discussion has gone around in circles here already.

Doesn't anyone clean there rifles anymore? :D

Interesting topic on ammo types, BTW I have seen Czech ammo (steel core) go through 1/2" steel plates at 50 yards...more testing is needed. :D

Also it's good to know about it's potential fire starting abilities...esp' out here in BC during our Hot Summers.

Rookie Question Number 5

I have the firing pin spring on order from Wolf for my SKS-D so softer primers should be much of an issue if I keep her clean.

Where can I get commerical, (non-surplus, non-corrosive) ammo?

I know, I know...why put good ammo through a cheap gun. But I have my reasons. I want to shoot it as accurately as possible, and that aint gonna happen with military ball.

It a challenge!
