chinese CQA1 AR15

I wanted to get into the AR platform, and a friend sold me his Norc for a fairly good deal. It had less than 100 rounds through it when I got it, didn't have too much wobble between the upper and lower, and actually grouped decently at 75 meters with MFS ammo.

After purchasing and shooting the Norc a few times, I got the AR bug big time. Even though the Norc shot fairly well, I really wanted something that was finished better. The Norc was just really roughly made. Initially, I thought of building a lefty Stag upper, and jumped on an EE ad for a Stag lefty upper and BCG. The Stag upper actually fit really nicely to my Norc lower...but in the end, I decided not to go part way and just build a nicer complete gun.

I didn't build anything fancy...bought a Spike's Tactical lower here in the EE and a Stag barrel assembly from Arms East. It's nothing fancy, but in the end, the lefty AR cost me almost triple what I sold the Norc for...lol. I guess that's how it goes... :D

Appox. 1200rds fired. Clean it twice...funtion 100%!!!!...for $700ish...The Norinco AR15 in 10'5 rules.

My CQA put four shots at 25 yards that could be covered by a dime. I honestly doubt the average shooter could tell the difference between the norinco and the more expensive brands

x2. The CQA is my first AR platform and I love it. Took it out shooting yesterday with 2 other people and everyone grouped tight shots. Well worth the money.

Love mine......I'm new to shooting, so I don't have many references to compare it to except to except the Diemaco/Colt Canada C7A2. I guess that would be like comparing apples and oranges with all the differences, but reliability wise it's so-far-so-good. I've got maybe 350 (mixed 5.56 and .22lr) rnds through it so far, and haven't had anything break on me so far....the trigger got a lot smoother since when I got it...not sure if that's supposed to happen.

Compared to a name brand AR like the Dienamco/Colt Canada, yeah, the Norc is definitely not as pretty, but compared to previous batches, the one I got was pretty nice (not painted). For a beginner like me, I'm happy. It was a good starter rifle.

Got a bunch of Magpul stuff from CTC Supplies and here she is:

hello all i was looking at getting the chinese CQA1 AR15 i was just wondering what everyones opinions are on it if its worth the buy.

The gun is fantastic. For the money it is an excellent product. I have the 10.5" and it has phenominal accuracy for what it is.

My advice is buy one, then buy the 6pack of magpul pmags from Questar, then buy a 1000 rounds of ammo and shoot it until your numb. Also its a good gun to learn the ar platform on, I am in the process of building an AR with quality gear... so using the Norc as a guinny pig/reference is very helpful.

The best part about the Norc is that they are too ugly to be safe queens to begin with, so you never have to feel bad for marking them up and beating them like a red headed step child.

Lol contract that was by far the most halarious and most helpful response ive gotten so far. Thanks everyone for the help I'm hoping to pick one up in the next couple of weeks. It's finally starting to get nice out here so I'm hoping to get some shooting time on the mountain this weekend

I have 2 of these one with teh 14.5 and the other with the 10.5

for the price they are flawless, they work, they are reliable. They can be built up anyway any other AR can be. The triggers are ok, the plastics ok, the finish mayby not as pretty as others, but at 25, 50, and 100 yards they will hold there own in a fun shoot.

Its not fair to compair them to my Colt Hbar Delta Comp so I wont. But I could own 5-6 QCs for teh price of that one, and have as much fun as well.

I've got a Colt HBAR as well, which I'm hesitant to beat up. In the very near future I'm going to pick up a 14.5 Norc and a can of Krylon spray paint so I can beat the living hell out of it and not worry about it.

I'f you're looking for a precision AR to keep your groupings at a few inches at 300+ yds, I wouldn't suggest the Norc. For using an AR-15 for a CQB - Mid range (1-200 yds) running drills for fun on the range, it is every bit as good as a $3000 Noveske. Paper doesn't shoot back.

No need for $$$$$$$$$$$ AR's unless you want incredible accuracy or life saving dependability. Civi AR's are range queens for fun. Spend your 700 dollars, use that cash you're saving for a reloading press. You wont regret it.

Only civilians I can think of who would "beat up" on their AR's would be those who shoot competitions.

Yes and no. Anyone into running tactical drills to use the rifle for the purpose it was built for WILL beat it up over time.

As for local competition, especially as a beginner you still can't go wrong with a Norc. If you're traveling world wide to compete, buy the Noveske like I stated above.
